If you discovered a lump, persistent pain, or troubling symptoms, you would seek help. You would make appointments. Ask questions. Follow instructions. Yet men give more attention to a sore knee than to a sinful conscience. They know their souls are cold. They know their prayers are lifeless. They know sin & the world have overrun them. If this is you, play the man and seek out a soul physician at once!

Some men excuse themselves from seeking Christ by saying, "If God intends to save me, He will save me." Yet they don't reason that way anywhere else in life. No man says, "If God intends me to be fed, food will appear in my stomach whether I eat or not." "If God intends for me to have money, it'll happen whether I work or not." Why use such reasoning when it comes to your soul? God has appointed means as well as ends. He commands sinners to repent & believe the gospel. He calls them to flee to Christ today, NOW, because tomorrow's not promised to you. To refuse this call while hiding behind God's sovereignty is gross & high-handed presumption. "As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?" Ezek. 33:11

Conversion is not merely stepping from one path to another while still facing the same direction. It is a turning of the whole man. It is going the contrary way to a contrary place. When God converts a sinner, the heart is changed. Sin is no longer cherished as before. Holiness becomes desirable. The things of God become your recreation, your business, and your chief delight. What once seemed burdensome becomes precious. Do you know this converting power? Has there been such a change in your life? "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Cor. 5:17)

Pca is this true? 53 percent of members strongly favor same sex marriage? And 40 percent in 2014? Yikes.

Packages are delayed. Flights are canceled. Men miss appointments. But death never does. As surely as tomorrow's sun is making its way through the darkness of night, so your death hastens on. Every graveyard bears witness to its perfect record. Are you ready to meet God, friend?
250,000 people died today. Most of them weren't ready. Are you?

RL Dabney - "All the great preachers, from the apostles to our day, whom God has honored to revive and bless his Church, have been evangelical: Ambrose, Augustine, Chrysostom, the Reformers, the orthodox Puritans, Whitefield, the Wesleys, the Tennents, Davies, Chalmers, Summerfield, Nettleton. The pure gospel usually attracts the multitude of those who hunger after God, while the Ritualist and the moralizing pulpit philosophers, after the tinsel of novelty is lost, parade their wares before empty benches."

Many people hear "experiential Christianity" and assume emotionalism. The Reformers & old Presbyterians meant something very different. They were asking whether the truths of Scripture had actually reached the conscience, heart, and life. Article from Reformation21:

This year for my birthday I'm asking people to donate to their local churches. Instead of sending me money, which I know you all wanted to do, send it to your own church instead. However, if you're a papist, EO, Jehovah's Witness, or Mormon, send it over to my denomination - Vanguard Presbyterian Church. It'll be much better used with us. Thx!
I turn 41 today. As I grow older, I'm much less impressed with the things that once seemed so important. Those painted worldly baubles appear lighter than chaff; wealth gathers wings and flies away; the vigor of the flesh is but a withering flower; the applause of men is fickle; and all is drowned out by the booming day of Eternity. My thoughts especially run toward those who are yet without Christ. Friend, are you prepared to die? Not, are you healthy or are happy or you successful? Some of you could say yes, and I'm happy for you, but that's all temporary. It's fleeting. Are you ready to stand before a holy God? You and I are traveling the same road. We are both hastening toward eternity. You and I tread the selfsame highway to the grave. Your life is no less a fleeting vapor than mine own. We are both dying men. We are both en route to the judgment seat of the Almighty. *Are you prepared to meet your God?* If 41 years in this howling wilderness has sealed any truth upon my heart, it is that the mercy of Jehovah is unsearchably deep. Yet, beware! His long-suffering will not always strive with man; the sun of His patience will eventually set! Today, while the trumpet of the Gospel sounds, and while Christ is freely offered to you, repent and lay hold upon Him! Flee now to the stronghold of the Savior, while the door of mercy yet stands open! Touching my own soul, I have nothing to declare but that the Lord has been a bountiful and tender Father to me, though I have been a peevish and unfaithful child to Him. Every year is a monument to His unchanging fidelity. The days before me are hidden in the secret counsel of His will, yet the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His compassions fail not, they are new every morning. Thank you God for your 4 plus decades of mercy towards this sinner, and the eternity of joy that awaits me through the blood of my Savior Jesus Christ.

The Creeds and Confessions exist to maintain the honor and glory of God among men, to protect the Church from heresies, and to promote the unity of Christian people. The very reason cultists and heretics despise them.

I had a rich time of spiritual refreshing with the saints at Zion Presbyterian Church this past week, and especially with my brother @romeshp . Communion season consisted of five services, along with an afternoon of open-air preaching in downtown Fredericksburg. The congregation is warm, serious-minded about heavenly things, and zealous for the salvation of souls. I'm on my way to Opelika AL and Providence Presbyterian Church's communion season. Thank you to all who have been praying. Your prayers are deeply appreciated.

The Christian Sabbath is a feast day for the soul. 2 practical steps to start you down the path, one positive, one negative: 1. Make all Lord's Day services a priority, and end the day with family worship & psalm singing. 2. No sports ball, eating out, or worldly entertainment
It's pitiful when any Christian rejects the Christian Sabbath, but God forbid a Presbyterian does. The whole church up until yesterday were Sabbatarians, but that is especially so of Presbyterians. I mean, even Billy Sunday & Billy Graham were Sabbatarians!
