No good news to report yet on the recovery of the data on compute nodes in ATL, ORD and PHX. The @kzngdn freelancers are still on JFK.

One of the most important lessons was don't put backups on storage that is not easy to get the data back from quickly in an outage.

One suggestion would be to sell some SmartOS instances to folk to pay for the hardware but that would require ramping up things quite a bit.

How many folks would help pay towards shipping drives for data recovery? I am asking a number of places for quotations but it sounds pricey.

FYI: The summary so far. ATL / ORD / PHX have zero shared hosts left. All those computes nodes drives were wiped. BSD KVM's also gone.
