Even the rain couldn’t stop us. Students were loud and clear this weekend: we will not stand for tuition fee increases.
We chanted.
We shared our stories.
We stood shoulder-to-shoulder with other student unions, faculty associations, and labour allies.
The solution to an underfunded post-secondary system is not charging students and B.C. families more, it’s public funding.
It’s time to stop the cuts, reduce the waitlists and end the layoffs. It’s time to fix education.

Join us on Jan. 31. Bring a friend, a family member or a colleague! Our public colleges and universities need more public funding to stabilize after years of funding that hasn’t kept pace with inflation or the costs of training our future workers.
Today, my first bill, the Sexual Violence Policy Act, passed committee stage & third reading. We are one step away from it becoming law.
This legislation strengthens protections against sexual violence at BC public post-secondary campuses, making them safer for all students.
Today student representatives spoke with elected officials about steps that can be taken to strengthen the Tuition Limit Policy, and the urgent need for intentional government action and investment to stabilize our post secondary institutions.
Thank you @rparmar_BC@RickGlumacBC and @JagrupBrar1 for the great conversation.
The future of BC is sat right at this table.
We met with the BC Federation of students (@TheBCFS), discussing their vision for the BC of today and tomorrow.
We will always make time for the next generation.

Student representatives were at the Legislature this week calling for urgent action on post-secondary education. With institutions running deficits, cuts to academic programs, reduced student services and widespread layoffs — students are paying more for less.
We called on the government to:
✅ Strengthen the tuition limit policy
✅ Release the results of the funding review’s first phase
✅ Implement a new, equitable funding model
✅ Reinvest stable, annual public funding into the system
We met with Premier @Dave_Eby, Minister @AnneKangBurnaby, Critic @KorkyNeufeld, and MLAs from the @bcndp@Conservative_BC and @BCGreens — ensuring student voices were heard across party lines.
