Everything about AI bros is pathetic and sad. Tech as a savior ideology is inherently pathetic and impotent.

Gee. If only a certain group of individuals had been talking about this for years! In all seriousness, I'm glad to see this method of gaming get a spotlight. I wonder if the haters were as nasty with her as they were with me and others who advocate for this though.

As someone who freelances, this is just the game. She agreed to the pay and did it. And now that the film has done well, I'm not sure what she expects. Retro active pay beyond what she agreed to? She has her name attached to a highly successful film. She could market herself for future projects where she could make more. Instead, I think with this attitude, she's going to make future producers think twice before they hire her despite her work on this successful film. I know I would think twice if her resume and this social media post was in front of me. If there was a candidate of equal or even slightly less quality than her, I'm still going to consider them in relation to her in hiring. The trick to success is to always be looking ahead. How can what you have done be a stepping stone to what you want to do. She could have reframed this post even. "I was art director on this highly successful indie film but I also wore a lot of other hats. I'm proud of the work I've done. This is the nature of indies." Instead of sounding like a complainer, she could have sounded highly dedicated. That gets you more work. That gets you on bigger projects. That gets you more pay. Honestly, this attitude comes off as failing in personal character to me.

She understands the movie, at the time when she worked on it, hadn't made millions yet right? This honestly just comes across as idiotic if I'm honest. "if anyone else feels compelled to share their rates we can stem the tide." Lady I don't see how you get more pay into indie films when the millions the film could make does not yet exist for the film maker in charge of that indie that is hiring you. Zero business sense. Zero sense about how reality works.

Here is the fact. The producers, directors, and funders who put up 750k as a budget deserve to make 250 million if the film did well. This is the gamble. Look at the scale. She gets paid her 6k if the film is a failure or a success. Those with a stake and risk attached are out 750k if it fails. Her stake is significantly lower in risk than the people she is complaining about.

I personally don't care that it is a woman fighting in a fantasy video game. But this is a cut scene; this isn't "gameplay."

If you deadass look at this gameplay and the first thing that comes to your head is "woke," you don't deserve to call yourself a gamer.

But these people don't play games so I get that it's hard for them to know the difference.

I get flack for my opinions and how stubborn I am about them. But when the hobby has become this, someone has to put their foot down. No one should ever care about the length of time playing these games. It means nothing and isn't a metric of knowledge or mastery.

I wonder if the people who like the image on the left are the same ones who criticized and hate the image on the right. I wonder if the people who like the image on the right are the same ones who dislike the idea of the image on the left. My instincts say "yes."

I post this because I want to point out how, at the very least, all sides are being aesthetically consistent at least.
