I tried BeamNG last year and the VR was broken. Gonna give it another go this Tuesday. But I'm also about to try Voxel Project VR, which looks to be a spiritual child to Teardown. If anyone's got experience with these, tips and tricks, or generally helpful advice going in I'd be sure to listen. Voxel looks especially cool, but Teardown is such a demanding game and the thief campaigns are so well done that I only expect to be let down by this. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

A lot of the losses we've felt in VR have added up to a pretty ugly picture, but I think it's better that this happen now. youtu.be/VK5UIz2jNqA

Today I downgraded from the WinWing Orion 2 Hotas to the Thrustmaster Warthog. The pricing suggests it's not much of a downgrade, but I always felt like the WinWing was built better. But I hate how it's not mostly plug and play. Everything - literally everything - has to be mapped, whereas Thrustmaster just mostly works with everything. But I don't know what most people do. I know that I've Jerry rigged the shit out of this thing, with extensions and flat bars, just bridging everything so there isn't any wobble and give. I think it's impressive, but I don't know if this is frowned upon by others.

I've struggled with VR games. I know that PCVR requires something of a will to fix stuff. But I've been playing Star Wars Squadrons from @EA for 5 years and it's always been a nightmare. Sometimes it launches, sometimes it doesn't. With our without VR. It's the most frustrating experience I've ever had, and people have been complaining about it for YEARS. They haven't fixed it. Something about their cheat detection kills the launch, and they're still selling it as if it's a competent, valuable product. Hey @EA, why don't you fix your bullshit, look at what thousands of players are saying, and actually build some good will. This experience is the most idiotic and stupid barrier to gameplay I've ever experienced in my life. Holy shit, where the Tylenol.

This is what we were talking about 3 years ago. If this actually keeps your entire house it'll be a game changer. But the Quest 3 still can't map stairs. Maybe that's for the best...
I think this might be the first and only VR game that I've seen in the IGN summer of gaming, but I can't wait to play it. Into the dead is coming to to quest 3 next year and it looks like it's going to be a room scale VR game using your MR room scan to create a real horror game. They call it hyper reality. We need more games like this.

In Kayak VR the kayak tilts in the direction you lean, which makes for a very cool sensation.

Alien Isolation 2! @SteveKnowsVR and I talked about this last year, but at that time it was just a rumor. Here it is in all it's glory. youtu.be/M4-AUZBVXkE?si=SspS…

As much as I adore my motion rig, the truth is that it asks a lot - drivers, software, updates, and several handshakes depending on the games and haptics. It's a chore. But it's only a chore getting it set up initially. If you use it daily then it'll always fit like a glove. But life doesn't work that way and I'm constantly going months without using it. Excited to say that I'll be jumping into Dirt Rally 2 and Kayak again tomorrow. Looks like the VR offered up for Forza 6 is fake? @GAMERTAGVR had the scoop on that, to my immediate sadness. Especially as the rig now supports it.

I've wanted to go to the UK for a long time, and I still might, but it'll be with a knife proof box surrounding me as a speaker plays music I don't understand. I can't think of another ghillie suit alternative meant to keep you alive in a place like that.

If you're a guy who reviews movies on @RottenTomatoes, we'd love to share our film. Or if you happen to be @CorridorDigital, which why would you be, you're officially invited to check out our new feature film! You'll find the link pinned in the comments, and the special effects will make even His Breenious gasp.

This feels like the competition complaining in an attempt to bring down the king. No idea. But you can go buy a game on PlayStation or Xbox, be forced to pay if you want multiplayer, and your experience is a hassle. Nevermind the fact that if you buy through Microsoft you can't take it with you when you jump to another platform. Steam has followed me for 15 years. I don't know how people put up with game passes and pay-to-play multiplayer experiences. gamesradar.com/games/valves-…
