We would like to go public and express our sincere thanks GM Mahel Boyer and @GirelJoseph GM Joseph Girel, both from France, for helping @rpraggnachess in his opening preparations over the last couple of years. Along with GM @vaibhavschess, we have been able to build a compact unit with high level of trust in each other. We feel this is a good time the chess world comes to know about the silent, behind the scenes contribution of Joseph and Mahel in Pragg's progress. Thank you boys!

Check out the incredible final moments of Praggnanandhaa taking down World no.1 Magnus Carlsen with the Black pieces in Round 8 of Norway Chess 2026! With this win, Pragg becomes the first Indian (and possibly in the world) player who defeated Magnus Carlsen in Classical Chess twice in the same tournament! What a moment for Indian Chess.

After deep reflection, I have taken the difficult decision to withdraw from the FIDE Womenโ€™s Candidates Tournament. No event, no matter how important, can come before personal safety and well-being. Despite the assurances provided, I do not feel fully secure under the current circumstances. This is a painful but necessary decision, and I stand by it.

Huge congratulations to Arjun Erigaisi for securing the Bronze medal in FIDE World Rapid Championship 2025! Arjun scored 9.5/13 points to finish 3rd in World Rapid - thanks to his amazing performance, Arjun is now World no.3 in Rapid live ratings, rated 2746.6 now. Arjun Erigaisi is the only Indian after the legendary Vishy Anand to secure a medal in World Rapid Championship! Arjun scored 8 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses in this very strong tournament. After a tough loss against Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus in Round 12 which threw him out of title contention, Arjun was not deterred - he finished strong with consecutive wins! Huge congratulations to Arjun, his team and his family for this amazing performance. Best wishes to the Wonderboy from Warangal for World Blitz!
