Nigeria, with a population of over 242 million people, has a monthly Internet usage of over 1.3million terabytes of data and currently has a data center capacity of 136.7 megawatts (MW).

To put this in perspective with electricity: Nigeria has the physical capacity to generate about 14,000 megawatts (14 GW) of power, but everyday grid issues mean only about 4,000 to 5,000 megawatts are actually available on an average day.

Meanwhile, the US has an installed power grid capacity of over 1,250 gigawatts (1,250,000 MW). This massive difference in everyday electricity is the real bottleneck explaining why our local tech infrastructure is fighting so hard to scale up.

Most developers default to UUID v4. I did too. Then I started seeing what it does to database indexes when it hits millions of rows. Wrote everything I've learned about it, including why v7 and ULIDs are usually the better call for your primary keys: thedanieldallas.com/thoughts…

Here is a comparison between the @NGRSenate and @NGRHouse provisions on electronic transmission of results. It reveals why the House of Representatives position remains the best option. We hope the conference committee will be guided by the overall public interest by adopting the position of the House of Reps.

I think it would be a massive diplomatic disaster to tag President Kagame’s official handle in a fake photo. I know this current government 'can do and undo', but they aren't that careless.

It's almost 24hrs since President Tinubu posted the photo on his official X account. If the meeting never happened, the Rwandan government would have debunked it immediately. It’s obviously a real meeting, just a poorly handled upload.

If your Next.js app uses the App Router, you must patch to Next.js 16.0.7 now, as critical RCE (Remote Code Execution) flaws are already being exploited. After updating to the latest patch, ensure you check your app features & functionalities before deploying to production.

Sometime in June this year, the UK government changed the look of the GOV.UK logo, and it was reported that they spent £532,000 on it.

But to be fair, I don’t think the money was just for the logo design. It probably also covered accessibility improvements for visually impaired users, as well as the rollout of the new design across all GOV.UK services, both online and on physical materials.

In fact, these updates have already started appearing on several GOV.UK platforms.
