All because members of the EU met with lobbyists and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillmot behind closed doors and likely had their hands greased. Pathetic, embarrassing, corrupt behavior by institutions meant to protect the people instead choosing to protect corporate interests.
'Stop Killing Games' has failed to secure new EU legislation despite having 1.3 million signatures The EU says it “cannot propose a legal obligation” requiring publishers to keep games playable after they stop being sold commercially

Aaron Tucker had been out of prison for seven days. He had less than $2 in his pocket and one shot at turning his life around, a job interview that morning. Then he saw a car flip over and catch fire from his bus window. He asked the bus driver if he was going to help. "No, but if you get out I'm going to leave," the driver replied. Tucker got out anyway. He sprinted toward the upside-down, smoke-filled car and found the 61-year-old driver covered in blood. He unbuckled the man's seatbelt and dragged him clear as the car started to catch fire. He pulled off his own dress shirt and used it to stop the man's head wound from bleeding, telling him: "You're going to be all right. Your family wants to see you. Keep your eyes open." The bus left. Tucker missed his interview. When the story got out, strangers set up a GoFundMe that raised over $50,000 in three days. He also received multiple job offers in construction. "I feel like a job can come and go, but a life is a one-time thing," Tucker said. "The job just wasn't in my mind at that time."

From Samantha Busch on Instagram: "One of the greatest gifts these past few weeks has been hearing people's stories about Kyle. Every memory, photo, and message has helped me feel connected to Kyle in ways I can't fully explain and made me want to share some moments that brought me comfort over these unimaginably hard weeks." #NASCAR

Maybe I'm old fashioned but I was taught to not give a fuck about WHY somebody was an asshole because that didn't matter. I don't give a fuck that her head is fucked up because that doesn't give you a pass to do wrong. I only see her as a hypocritical stupid bitch. That's all.
Deme, the VTuber, has BPD, borderline personality disorder. It's something I have relatively intimate knowledge of, as my sister has BPD, and I had a coworker whose wife has BPD. They have intense, rapidly shifting emotions with fear of abandonment, along with huge defensive responses. They have the uncanny ability to always see themselves as the victim, no matter what the context is or the circumstances, and due to the impulsivity in their "defense," they can become quite unhinged. People with BPD also have solidly black and white thinking, seeing the world in a us vs them mentality, which is how she can justify her vile attack against Chibi. These people practically never take accountability, fault, or anything, often blaming everyone else except themselves. They will frequently engage in DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender). They will deny the wrongdoing and then attack the person raising the concern, often in a screaming, emotionally volatile tone, and then reverse the original instigator as the victim. They can often "mask" their symptoms in a public setting for a while, often for many years, but after enough stressors mount, they crack and that mask slips off. She can blame it all on PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) all she wants, but her behavior is textbook BPD... the same kind of toxic behavior my sister displayed, and the same stories from my coworker with the BPD wife. Some of the stories include ones like the BPD wife intentionally harming herself, often seriously enough to be hospitalized, only to blame it on the husband, or even reframing it because the "husband" was emotionally abusive. Similarly, my sister has self-harmed on multiple occasions only to escape discipline from my parents, for fear she might escalate. My sister's husband was also blamed for all the "ruination" that "he" caused against her. The coworker and my sister's husband both shared the same phenotype. Quiet, reserved, nice, and harmless... but you can tell behind all of it, they were deeply in love but also deeply scared of their spouse... not knowing when the next blowup is going to be. The Simps for women with BPD can be just as toxic, as their pull during the good moments can be legitimately magnetic, and they form strong parasocial bonds with creators such as her. People with BPD, when they are happy, are very charismatic, charming, and very warm... almost a complete mirror reverse of the depth of their toxic downward spiral. The simps become blinded by her toxic nature, reinforce her DARVO attacks, and so many idealize women with mental illnesses. "That crazy chic" is the trope that so much of the simp economy is catered to. TLDR... Stay away from people with BPD. They are dangerous and will often ruin your life, even through a parasocial lens, and treatment often has limited success.

Are you about to tell Americans what constitutes a burger. Are you really going to do that. Is that your move. Really.
Americans will call a chicken burger a “chicken sandwich” even though it’s clearly in a burger bun
Community note
In American English, a "burger" refers to a patty of ground meat; the fried chicken fillet shown is a chicken sandwich, not a burger. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_s… thedailymeal.com/1493973/differ…

When recording the part where the Dutchman eats them (from an alternate ending) the cast is told by Stephen Hillenburg to make the walla "lighter" and less like the characters are upset. The voice actors then start riffing as if they were being brutally digested.
Fun Fact: Did you know that Bill Fagerbakke improved "leedle leedle lee" during the recording session of Shanghaied? The script called for a long scream. Here is an excerpt of the session, the session in whole is available on YouTube!

I still loved America when Joe Biden was president. I disagreed strongly with him. I opposed almost all of his policies. I thought most of the things his administration did were damaging to the country. But here's the thing: I never stopped loving America. You see, America is bigger than her government. America is not Joe Biden. America is not Donald Trump. America is not Congress. America is not the bureaucracy. Governments come and go. Administrations rise and fall. Politicians make mistakes, abuse power, pass bad laws, and sometimes do genuinely terrible things. But America is bigger than any of that. It’s the culture, the people, the communities, the traditions, the freedoms, the churches, the charities, the families, the businesses, the neighbors who help each other when disaster strikes. It’s the idea that free people can govern themselves and build something better. (And disagree while trying) A president can damage the government. A Congress can damage institutions. Neither Biden nor Trump can destroy the spirit of America unless we decide to surrender it ourselves. If your love of your country depends entirely on who occupies the White House, then what you love isn’t really your country. It’s a political administration. I loved America under Biden. I love America under Trump. I’ll still love America long after both of them are gone.

De Niro: I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser. I can’t love a country that starts stupid and inhumane wars, killing thousands of innocents and indirectly causing the deaths and suffering of millions more. I can’t love a country that takes healthcare away from millions of people and uses that money to enrich their pals in the Trump-Epstein class. I can’t love a country that sends out masked militias to shoot citizens in the streets, torture our neighbors, and separate families. I can’t love a country that’s led by a racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant. And let me just say it: I can’t love a country that’s led by Donald Trump and his sycophant Congress.

This show was like a kid in school who quietly did their own thing, but was very pleasant to be around once you talked to them, while the other kids chased popularity and argued over dumb shit. Can we go back to giving kids a slow-paced, wholesome show like this once in a while?
We didn’t realize it then, but kids’ shows used to be this calm on purpose.

Hey @Steam can we please add a way to filter out games that use AI when browsing for Next Fest demos on the event page, instead of having to check every individual page for disclosures? Very disheartening when on stream I'm scrolling through, watching trailers, only to find out countless times mid trailer that the games outsourced creative elements to AI. It really killed my enjoyment for Next Fest, and I've pretty much lost all interest in browsing demos and games, and honestly interacting at all with similar events in the future if there is not a way to filter. I love browsing game demos and indie game events because I love checking out all the amazing things that devs have been working on and seeing all the creativity on display. I want to see what humans have crafted and made with love. Not what has been outsourced to bots for a quick buck or to save time. Can we please have a filter so people who don't care can see everything, and people who do care aren't forced to filter through COUNTLESS AI games? (According to SteamDB, 1698 of them....just in Next Fest...)
