7/ psychotherapy. The goal of meaningful psychotherapy is to make itself unnecessary “We all hope that our patients will finish with us and forget us, and that they will find living itself to be the therapy that makes sense” —Donald Winnicott

How might collaborative fictional storytelling impact our emotions & memories? Can it offer new ways of thinking about our grief & connect imaginatively to those who have died? Our open access co-authored article explores these questions. @Crowded__Room tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…

#NationalGriefAwarenessWeek Day 2: "The 5 Stages of Grief" is misnamed. It should be "The Grief Megamix". Grief isn't a linear process you move through in an orderly way. It's a cacophony of emotions, each blaring out randomly for you to drunkenly dance to as best you can.

Excellent psychoanalytical discussion - why does social media weaponise our reactions and make it increasingly difficult to have a nuanced discussion. @ThisJungianLife @DrAaronB
NEW EPISODE — Aaron Balick: Why Does Social Media Weaponize Our Reactions? Social media invites snap emotional reactions, muddling clear thinking and escalating global tensions. It feeds on our anger, oversimplifying complex problems which blocks our ability to empathize. Nuanced explanations are demonized as if seeking to understand was an affront. If we learn to pause and reflect, we can overcome social media's divisive influence and discover middle-ground solutions in both personal and world affairs. We're joined by Aaron Balick (@DrAaronB), a psychotherapist, speaker, consultant, educator, and author of The Psychodynamics of Social Networking. Prepare to discover where emotional reactivity has been weaponized in social media, what geopolitical consequences are still felt from impulsive reactions, how to distinguish between a reactive and responsive attitude, whether expressing an understanding of complex issues will get you cancelled, why platforms simplify and sensationalize issues and so much more… thisjungianlife.com/aaron_ba…

Brilliant piece by Sam Carlisle on the scandal that is special educational needs provision. I met Sam last week to discuss the issue and my advice to the government would be not to rile her in the way ⁦@GillianKeegan⁩ has done. Fix the problem. metro.co.uk/2023/11/08/the-c…
