📣 A Talk by Dr Seán Gannon on Revisiting the ‘Limerick Pogrom’ of 1904, will take place at Watch House Cross Library next Thursday 18th April at 6.30pm.
‘Dr Seán Gannon examines the events that followed two antisemitic sermons by a Redemptorist priest in January 1904, and considers how this relatively minor episode came to be remembered in Irish Jewish and non-Jewish memory as a Russian-style pogrom which all but destroyed Limerick’s Jewish community.’
