Rangers denied a clear penalty, an excellent display by Abbie Hendry and her team up until that point. VAR has to help her out there.

It wasn’t caused by perfectly reasonable criticism, it was caused by, probably, criminal release of personal details without consent. The 2 are not connected.
🗣️ “I had to spend one night on the phone trying to organise police protection for one of our match officials, and at that point you realise everybody’s gone too far.” Ian Maxwell on referee safety and the use of VAR ⤵️

Watching the Cup Final & it shows that the BBC have more & better angles than our VAR system to show the incidents. Plus they also PAY MILLIONS to the @ScottishFA & @spfl to cover the matches!

How dare you have a debate on the current situation in Scottish football with a former CEO of the SPFL who labels the current product “shit” and blocks people for questioning his decision making that played a role in the drop in quality of the game.

So Willie Collum backing John Beaton to award penalty after only 17 sec review on advice of Andrew Dallas to award penalty to Celtic v Motherwell has been adjudged to be wrong by KMI. The WORLD knew it was wrong. What an awful look for Collum & shows Dallas has too much influence

Just last week both of these VAR Officials were involved in, what many commentators called, the worst VAR decision ever. The consequences in Scottish football are being appointed to yet more hugely important games!

Congratulations to Celtic on winning the title. Commiserations to Hearts on a very valiant effort. Very good performance from Don and his team today, under massive pressure. They got the big calls right and kept control. Absolutely despicable scenes at the end of the game.

Scandalous that this was given as a Falkirk penalty, really poor decision and not a hard one for VAR to correct.

Decent first half from Don in what I can imagine is the most nervous of circumstances that we have seen. Penalty is clear, arm is unnatural and out from his body. Both bookings are fair. Fingers crossed our officials continue this after the break.

Today, the Scottish Premiership title-race goes to the final day for the first time since 2011. Best of luck to both sides. This is a massive occasion for our game and the world will be watching. Our league deserves this showcase after a whirlwind season, let’s hope it delivers in a positive sense and we are talking about a very good football match afterwards.

condemn* before anyone jumps on it, predictive text getting us there.
Those managers are sacked, those goalkeepers and strikers get dropped. Your referees fail upwards and are given games every week after making regular mistakes. We condone and abhor any personal abuse and threats aimed towards referees as everyone should.

There has been a mass hysteria placed on Wednesday‘s decision because of the circumstances, that should never become personal attacks. That being said, we can’t just ignore the fact that there are poor decisions every week that are not met with such scrutiny but are just as bad.

The SFA have to do more to protect referees like John and everyone else from personal attacks but also have to recognise that as long as analysis is fair and balanced, it should always be welcomed and not shut down because certain people in Hampden don’t like being challenged.
