So, tell me NEWSMAX about how this program was waste, fraud, and abuse?

A government agency spending $300 million in taxpayer dollars to produce sterilized flies sounds like a dream scenario for a DOGE team looking to cut waste, fraud, and abuse. newsmax.com/platinum/screwwo…

NEW: Cancer rates in Iowa are rising faster than anywhere else in the country. Politicians blame individual choices, but the real villain is the industrial farming covering the state. We went, tested the water, and found cancer causing levels of chemicals running through Iowa.

California voters banned gestation crates in 2018. Sixty-three percent. Massachusetts did it in 2016. Seventy-eight percent. The pork industry sued both times and lost all the way to the Supreme Court. So they did what you do when democracy keeps saying no. They added a provision to the House farm bill to nullify both state laws and preempt any future state effort to do the same thing. One industry. One provision. Millions of votes erased. The largest pork producer in America is Smithfield. Smithfield is owned by a Chinese company. Congress just passed a House farm bill that overrides the will of American voters in order to protect a Chinese corporation's right to confine pregnant pigs in cages too small to turn around for their entire lives. This is not a close call on the merits. Eighty-four percent of Americans in polling called that practice unacceptable. Tomi Lahren called the Save Our Bacon provision unprintable things. Mike Cernovich called it demonic. When an industry loses the argument with 84 percent of the public, loses in court, loses at the ballot box twice, and still wins in Congress... that is not democracy. That is a purchasing decision. The Senate still has a vote. The conference committee still has a choice. The question is whether Congress works for the American electorate or for the National Pork Producers Council and the Chinese company that owns Smithfield.
Here's what the pork industry doesn't want you to know about the way it sneaked a provision into the 2026 farm bill that would nullify ballot measures that improve animal welfare, while helping Chinese companies torture American pigs. The issue is personal to me, because we once raised pigs on our family farm, and I saw that these are not commodities but animals rather like dogs: smart with very distinct personalities. A naughty boy who punishes a single animal may be punished, but an adult who presides over the systematic abuse of hundreds of thousands of pigs as a business model is hailed as a visionary CEO -- and voters get that, and that's why they have backed laws that improve animal wellbeing. This is, remarkably, an issue that unites many liberals and conservatives alike; @TomiLahren, @Cernovich and @IngrahamAngle are among those who have been outspoken on this issue. I hope R and D members of Congress alike will stand firm, for the stakes are immense, with four pigs slaughtered around the clock on average all year. Here's a gift link to my piece: nytimes.com/2026/05/30/opini… I welcome your comments.

At this point, it's a crime, right? Do your jobs @GOP @TheDemocrats
The Trump administration is sending ships to rip 900 ocean sensors out of the Atlantic and Pacific — and Congress already told them twice they couldn't do it.** They're doing it anyway.

The appointment of an acting director of national intelligence with no national intelligence experience highlights two flaws in the Vacancies Act: First, anyone serving in a Senate-confirmed position across the entire federal government is statutorily eligible to serve as an acting officer in any office. That pool of eligibility is too broad; Congress should narrow it to only Senate-confirmed officials within the same department or agency, who are much more likely to have the relevant experience. Second, many positions have statutory qualification requirements based on experience or education, but these requirements most likely don't apply to actings. The National Security Act requires that a Senate-confirmed DNI must have national security experience, yet a non-Senate confirmed acting DNI can have none. The Vacancies Act should be clarified so that statutory qualifications for an office also apply to acting officers.
Trump says Bill Pulte will serve as acting DNI.

The NYT describes Hezbollah drones "steadily hunting down Israeli soldiers and commanders... with often-lethal strikes" posted in "chilling videos." Israel has killed 115x more people in Lebanon (3,433 vs. 29) since the start of the war. The drones get "chilling." The 3,433 Lebanese dead don't even get a mention.

What a photo. Saline Township did everything in their power to stop this data center. Then the wealthy developer threatened to bankrupt the township in litigation, ultimately forcing this upon the community. Now their conquest will be rewarded with tax breaks.

Fucking Republicans... "If you take out all the places where people actually live, everything is great!"
KUDLOW: How bad is the inflation right? HASSETT: Right now it's on a deep, downward dive. And the inflation is really out of control in the blue states. So if you take out New York and California, then the story is radically different. And so there's really good news even on inflation right now.

Trump being elected was just the end of the road for the right-wing destruction of the United States of America. When I was a teen in the 90s, and even in the 2000s, I felt like we were on the right track and that bigotry was on the decline. It was just hiding. We're doomed.

When an anonymous tech giant got St. Charles to sign NDAs to ram through a data center, the Missouri city rose up to beat the project back. Now the city, not half an hour from St. Louis, has enacted the first indefinite data center ban in the country. Here's how they did it:
