Well I can return the favour - just stumbled on Al’s website: monocledmutineer.co.uk A wealth of deep dives into historical marginalia. Rigorous and absolutely addictive!
Graduated in Sheffield with Irfan in the 90s. Restored contact with him in the early noughties after my move to Scotland when he was able to contribute some wonderful pieces to an ezine I ran. He's doing some great work now on the early days of film. louisleprince.net/

It's a masterpiece. Sadly the YouTube quality is v poor. Kevin Brownlow has done more for film in this country than anyone- it would be an amazing tribute to him to clear the rights and broadcast /release it in a proper print once again .
One of the great documentaries about cinema and a must‑watch for any film history enthusiast. All 13 episodes are available to watch in full on this YouTube playlist: youtube.com/watch?v=8mo3Z8Ik…

There is some great film-detective work being done as part of this project. I recommend #WutheringHeights Rediscovered to all devotees of early-film and of Emily Bronte's novel.

This is usually referred to as a 22 page script. It’s actually over 160 pages and an absolute treasure. @BFI @markcousinsfilm @SightSoundmag @BritishSilentFF @criterionchannl @leedsfilmfest
