This all posturing at this point, there is no way that the players are losing $500 million dollars on the cap and floor. How many teams and how much money would need to be spent to get all 30 teams up to $170 million dollar payroll?

MLBPA interim executive director Bruce Meyer says that the players would actually be taking a $500 million paycut if they accepted MLB's salary cap proposal, and reiterated that they will never agree to a salary cap.

If there is a salary floor attached to the salary cap, I think the players should take it. Sure, the Dodgers and Yankees are going to be over, but look at how many teams are going to be forced to spend a significant amount of money to reach the floor.
MLB has reportedly proposed a salary cap model to the MLBPA that would come with a $245.3M ceiling, & a $171.2M floor.
