Igbo man Joseph Chukwuka, a career preacher who came to South Africa a decade ago, says he leaves the country reluctantly out of fear and denies being an economic refugee insisting he was an enterprising member of society running a church while working as an ehailing driver.
Joseph Chukwuka, a Johannesburg-based preacher originally from Nigeria, has rejected claims that he is an economic refugee, saying his move to South Africa was driven by a spirit of adventure rather than financial necessity. Chukwuka said exploration and migration have long been part of Igbo culture, arguing that many Igbo people travel the world in search of opportunities, experiences and personal growth. He maintains that his decision to settle in South Africa and establish a church was motivated by his desire to explore new horizons and serve communities through his ministry. @ThisKg #JosephChukwuka #Johannesburg #Nigeria #Igbo #Migration #SouthAfrica #ChurchLeader #AfricaNews #ImmigrationDebate #JohannesburgNews #BreakingNews #FaithCommunity #AfricanDiaspora

[WATCH] DISGRUNTLED MEMBERS CROSSING THE FLOOR. This happens to all parties during an election year where people who were given a responsibility and have failed leave when the writing was on the wall with regards to not being re-elected they jump to other parties. Those are just individuals who are chasing the pay check and not about serving the people. We are getting good candidates looking at how things are unfolding and communities are giving us good candidates. Those who are jumping the ship know they didn’t do well during their tenures. Our focus is whether we getting the right people to be candidates and that they will execute the work of the ANC. #ANCatWORK

ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has described individuals recently unveiled by ActionSA as former ANC members as incompetent opportunists who are only seeking personal gain. Mbalula was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Boksburg, where he responded to recent political defections ahead of the local government elections. ActionSA this week announced that it had recruited several former ANC members, including a mayor from Limpopo, as part of its growing political presence in the province. However, Mbalula dismissed the defectors, saying they failed to deliver while serving in the ANC and were now “trying to secure the bag” by switching parties. @ThisKg @YOUFM898 #FikileMbalula #ANC #ActionSA #ANCDefectors #LimpopoPolitics #LocalGovernmentElections #ANCNEC #Boksburg #SouthAfricaPolitics #PoliticalDefections #ServiceDelivery #MayorCandidates #PartyPolitics #SouthAfricanNews #PoliticalNews newsnote.co.za/mbalula-to-an…

Your use of the word evacuation is at best alarmist

More than 800 Ghanaians have registered to be evacuated; Senior Government Officials on both sides engaging on South African legal conditions, passenger screening, managing the high numbers and multi-institutional coordination as we work on a new date for the evacuation.

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has officially distanced itself from controversial social media posts made by major shareholder Mark Saltzman, following a heated online exchange involving journalist Redi Tlhabi and the ongoing Israel-Gaza debate. The controversy erupted after Saltzman criticised Tlhabi’s pro-Palestine stance on X, accusing her of hypocrisy over alleged funding links to the Dis-Chem Foundation. The exchange intensified when insulting remarks allegedly made by Saltzman went viral, triggering widespread backlash and renewed calls for a #BoycottDisChem campaign across South Africa. In response, Dis-Chem released a firm public statement clarifying that the views expressed by Saltzman do not represent the company, its board, or management. The retailer emphasised that it remains a proudly South African, apolitical, and non-partisan organisation focused on delivering affordable healthcare and improving health outcomes for all citizens. The incident has sparked major debate online, placing the spotlight on corporate accountability, shareholder conduct, and the impact of social media controversies on brand reputation. #DisChem #BoycottDisChem #MarkSaltzman #RediTlhabi #SouthAfrica #SAnews #HealthcareSA #BusinessNews #IsraelGaza #Palestine #CorporateAccountability #PharmacyNews #TrendingSA #AffordableHealthcare
