This is Norfolk County. At the heart of Ontario’s Garden, Norfolk County is home to one of the most diverse and productive agricultural regions in the country. From row crops to horticulture, tobacco to greenhouse production, floriculture to viticulture, livestock to forestry, the work happening here is as varied as it is vital. Yet behind every acre is a network of dedicated individuals whose collective efforts often go unseen—but are crucial. From farmers—both generational and new—to agronomists, applicators, ag retailers, product suppliers, yard workers, and truck drivers, each person plays a crucial role in keeping the system moving. Equally essential are the thousands of offshore workers who leave their home countries each year to contribute their labour and expertise to Norfolk’s agricultural bounty. Their contributions are invaluable and deserve recognition. This project captures the rhythm of Norfolk agriculture from above—moments across the 2025 growing season that reflect the scale, pace, and beauty of production in our region. It’s a visual tribute to the people and processes that keep our rural economy thriving. So don’t only thank a farmer. Support Norfolk County agriculture through: • Buying local and in-season whenever possible. • Slowing down and sharing the road with farm equipment. • Supporting local AG retailers. (Clark’s, Fs Partners, Scotland Agromart, Sylvite, Underhills) • Having meaningful conversations with offshore workers when you see them in town. • Taking time to learn about the full spectrum of crops and commodities grown right here in your community. Agriculture is more than an industry in Norfolk—it’s a way of life, deeply rooted in land, labour, and legacy. Let’s do our part to honour and support those who make it all possible. A huge shoutout to the following operations who allowed me to share a glimpse of their story in keeping the world go round. Thank you to my team at Sylvite for the pointers and encouragement. This was purely an ambitious project fueled by my passion of AG for which I have not profited from. #ontag #canadianag #norfolkcounty

Anyone in #ontag looking for a nice small square baler? Have one that we would like to move. Comes with an 8 bale accumulator system and grab for loader tractor. Only reason for selling is getting out of making small squares. DM for details. Feel free to share.

Curious if anyone has experience or insight on using Kinze brush meters for planting black beans? And what cell plates would work the best?

Yep it’s animal agriculture that’s the problem.
Yesterday was the busiest day for commercial aviation that we’ve ever tracked. We tracked 134,386 commercial flights on 6 July and today is shaping up to be another busy day. More than 20,000 flights are in the air right now.

An amazing tour for the Ontario Beef Youth Alliance at Pinecroft Farms. The Bird family talked about their birth to beef operation marketing cattle into ⁦@VGMeats⁩. A great example of getting the next generation involved. ⁦@ThomasWBird⁩ ⁦@KatherineHMBird

The Ingenuity and industriousness of these people is on another level 👏🏼 Farmer doesn't have time to wait for his land to be cleared of mines/UXO so he's come up with a remote controlled mine-clearing tractor and tiller.

What could be more regenerative than this! Plant one seed, get about 800 back. Plus at least 12 t/ha of new organic matter added to our soil each season - ~ 2t sticking around for >1 yr. And a grain corn crop grown by farmers in Ontario for ~1500 years.

Canadian #farmers are paying all the tariffs out of their own pocket. Gov of Canada eludes that tariffs were charged to Russia. NOT THE CASE the tariffs were charged to #CanAg
As the people of Ukraine continue their heroic resistance, we must all do even more to ensure they can sustain that fight. That is why Canada will provide $115M in revenues from the tariffs we have levied on Russian and Belarusian goods to urgently rebuild Kyiv’s power grid.
