As a fan of japanese art *and* as a taphonomist, I was very excited to learn about Kusôzu: watercolour paintings that depict the decay and decomposition of a human body.

I really struggled to make the transition to blue sky and start again, I just don't feel like it's worth the effort. I found the loss of community here really sad, but have found it hard to leave even though my feed is a unpleasant experience. Weird.

There are now papers showing that the migration of academic communities from Twitter to other social media sites mostly failed. But they never fully returned to Twitter either.
I wonder if we will ever see so many different communities interacting in the same online space again.
