Huge elephant in the room is #Brexit. Hunt didn't once mention how it's contributed to 4% productivity drop, 15% trade drop, 6% food price increase, lower wages, workforce shortages & highest inflation in G7. Why won't Govt call it out? #AutumnStatement @BestForBritain @euromove

No threshold. 1 day. Is Johnson getting it, on top of his 80k mp pay, for being on holiday? We are paying about 700k a year for old PM’s, 5 of which are torys and detest benefit handouts.

How many of you know what Cruella Braverman's Public Order Bill contains? It's frankly unbelievable: legislation you might expect in Russia, Iran or Egypt. Here's a summary from my column today:

Dear Liz Truss, if someone you love ever has the misfortune to get old and frail and have a fall, pray that it doesn’t happen after 12 years of Tory mismanagement. They may be on the floor some time. 4 hours and waiting…
It seems we now live in a country where you can get an emergency avocado delivered more quickly than an ambulance. Progress?
My 88 year old mum had a fall 3 hours ago. Still waiting for an ambulance - or maybe for those tax cuts to magically stimulate the economy and bring us a properly funded NHS?

Perfectly normal morning in a perfectly normal country governed by perfectly normal people…
Asked how she would feel if she had to press the nuclear button and usher in global annihilation, Liz Truss replies that "I think it's an important duty of the Prime Minister. I'm ready to do it."

Sewage being pumped into our seas by businesses making enormous profits while Tories call for *less* regulation of business sums up the state of the nation.

Liz Truss had an Amazon Prime subscription in her expenses. You paid for it. She hosted a small work lunch in January and spent 3k. You paid for it. She chose a private jet to go to Australia costing half a million. You paid for it. She doesn’t believe in ‘handouts’.

Here's my official response to reports in The Telegraph tonight that the AG has banned govt lawyers from telling her if proposed govt actions are illegal How much more can Suella Braverman debase the role of Attorney General? And how much lower can this wretched government sink?

As a GP, it is my duty to inform you that the new GP federations are a disaster. Mergers of surgeries into networks of 30-50,000 patients allows cutbacks & will lead to poorer care. Ultimately they pave the way for buyouts by multinationals & private equity/hedge funds

The next Prime Minister will be decided by the same people who chose Johnson. Let that sink in. And then lower your expectations, a lot!

87 year old mum with dementia and COPD struggling with the heat on an understaffed NHS ward after suffering a stroke. Zero sign of any government “plans” to mitigate the effects of this heat - and is it me, or have ANY of these Tory candidates even mentioned climate change?
