I get it wasn’t with Minnesota, but this is absolutely awesome. Talk about karma for smearing his teammates and franchise. They didn’t need you after all.

In terms of swinging on upside, Suggs is a great gamble to take. Injuries have held him back, but he’s an elite perimeter defender which can help move Jaden off ball to unlock more offensive bandwidth. Why not take a swing on adding another younger player on Ant’s timeline?
Names like Kawhi Leonard and Jalen Suggs are being mentioned in the Timberwolves rumor mill, per @JonKrawczynski Minnesota is expected to make ‘fairly significant’ changes to its roster this offseason “What I think is going to happen is I do think there's going to be some sort of fairly significant roster change so that the starting lineup on opening night next season is not going to be the same starting lineup that finished this season…I think Kyrie is a more realistic possibility. You are hearing some other names start to just get kind of thrown around the rumor mill. You're hearing Kawhi Leonard. You're hearing maybe a little bit of Jalen Suggs, a few other names.” (Via hoopshype.com/rumors/?topic=…)

It’s fair to question Kyrie’s red flags, but my main pushback to this point is the list is inherently slim pickings to begin with. I’d also point to the advancements in ACL procedures along with the fact that all three of these examples showed signs of decline pre injury. Kyrie is far better than all of these players, and was not showing any signs of decline pre injury and even made the all star game before getting hurt. Thanks to tanking, Kyrie has had significant time to rehab.
I’m going to be a little negative, so Wolves fans I appologize Kyrie Irving just turned 34. Here is the list of guards 32 and older who tore their ACL and made an all star game at some point in their career. Doc Rivers Dec 1993, at age 32, would return to play 141 games averaging 15.8 minutes of the bench over the next two seasons Chauncy Billups Feb 2012, at age 36, returned to play 41 games over the next two seasons Baron Davis in 2012 playoffs at 32, never played in NBA again, retired List completed…

Had a great conversation about a few different pathways Minnesota could take on the trade market.

It’s a very, very short list of players I’d be willing to trade Jaden for.

Jake has talked at length about how much a PG would help this team all season, and what if a more subtle move of simply turning Randle into a Kyrie type could do for the team. Kyrie is an elite shooter, and then you’re replacing Randle with another elite shooter in Naz. You’d likely have enough left over (assuming the 2nd apron is the theoretical salary cap) to use a taxpayer exception on a free agent. Maybe you target a 4 like Yabusele to give you a physical presence. The main point is Kyrie is a connector that can space the floor and provide immense rim pressure on a defense. A player like that allows you to naturally increase Jaden and Naz’s usage, while immediately giving Ant the best spacing he’s had since before Rudy. Not to mention, Kyrie helping to unlock the pick and roll with Rudy will inevitably help fold him into the offense in ways that they’ve lacked the personnel to accomplish for two years. It doesn’t have to particularly be Kyrie, and I know there’s a ton of valid pushback I’ve heard. My rebuttal is that those concerns about Kyrie is why he’s likely so attainable for a modest price tag, and the Wolves are likely stuck with a modest level price tag.
I’d be fine with the Wolves moving off Gobert this summer — I actually think that’s where they’re gonna derive some value back on the trade market — but it’s also worth noting the starters w/Naz the last two seasons have been fire

You realize Ja ran Jenkins out of town, right?
A potential three-team trade framework featuring both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ja Morant: Heat: Giannis Bucks: Ja, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Nikola Jovic, No. 13 pick, 2031 1st, 2033 1st Grizzlies: Tyler Herro Morant would reunite with former head coach Taylor Jenkins.

I still think the logic behind flexibility from the KAT trade can pan out if they’re able to make the right pivot this summer. If Minnesota whiffs because of a lack of assets and the team takes a step back, there’s no dancing around how bad of a look it will be for this front office and their management of the Ant era. It’s crucial for Tim Connelly to win his next few moves. He’s quickly running out of equity to miss, and a miss right now could spell doom for the Ant era in Minnesota.

Seeing as Julius Randle quit on the team coinciding with KAT breaking through to the finals, this is only human of Ant. Minnesota doesn’t have to build Rome in a day, but the absolutely cannot run it back.

Brunson - too small to be a #1 on a championship team. KAT - he’s not reliable enough as a 5 defensively to be a #2 on a championship team. Now, they’re up 2-0 heading back to Madison Square Garden on the precipice of pulling off a championship for the city of New York.

I mean they’ll be a decent team, but there’s not much precedent for a team to have high level success with an average age over 35. That said, what a marketing dream as an organization to host the send off for two of the three most influential basketball players this century. It would be fun to watch them together, even in their twilight years.

Great, I am happy for him. Doing revisionist history and being angry about how it should be us is useless energy. For the next few days, Let’s Go Knicks!

Assuming this aggregator is paraphrasing in good faith, Minnesota did telegraph their intentions by saying they feel good about their core 4 of Ant, Jaden, Naz, and Beringer.

It pains me to say this, but everyone is closing the book on the Thunder way too quickly. Presti build a safety valve to help navigate their cap situation with the Dort, iHart, and Kenrich team options. Furthermore you have tradable contracts in Joe and Wiggins who weren’t in the playoff rotation. Lastly, they were missing two key pieces in Ajay Mitchell and Jalen Williams that would’ve loosened the coverage on SGA some. They’ll be right back next year. I don’t believe the cap will start hurting them until next offseason.
