“Penalty!” KES (1969) As a working class kid maybe I was just biased but I’m all grown up now and so truly understand why this is one of the most honest, heartbreaking, human & wonderful films ever made. #DavidBradley #BrianGlover #KenLoach

When you became a Councillor just by convincing the gullible that everything is the fault of immigrants. Then you find out that you need to actually do something other than put up flags, sing the national anthem and say the Lord’s Prayer.

Notice it's never - should we tax land value annually as they do everywhere else in the western capitalist world . Should we clamp down on trusts to stop tax dodging . Or 'Lord Bamford owes the tax man £500 Million should we make the money grubbing worm pay what he owes. Hardly any one gets £60,000 in benefits :-) unless they're severely disabled and need around the clock care
Is the benefits system too generous? JCB chairman Lord Bamford has warned Britain "can’t get away" with people receiving up to £60,000 a year in benefits, saying soaring welfare costs risk a public ‘revolt’. Is he right? Is the benefits system out of control?

#Reform Council in #Kent - Rubbish not collected for FIVE WEEKS. (But the Reform Council in that time managed to vote themselves an inflation-busting pay rise and fork out £600,000 for 8 reserved parking spaces ...)

I thought impeachment was the way of getting rid of an awful President but I guess if they wish to use these who am I to stand in their way ...wait have I misunderstood or been a bit harsh??
The Trump administration just released a statement calling for the US to bring back the electric chair, firing squads, and gas asphyxiation as viable methods of execution.

It is notable in the light of #Argentina’s #Milei stating that his country still wants the #Falklands, and #Trump’s White House saying they would probably give it to him … those in the British Right Wing Media who cheered on both … are suddenly and suspiciously very silent.

A 75-year-old disabled pensioner was manhandled by Nigel Farage’s security after trying to take a photo of Farage’s car parked in a disabled bay. This isn't the first time Farage has used a disabled parking space either. To me this shows the real character of the man. Can anyone explain how this behaviour is excusable? shetlandtimes.co.uk/news/utt…

Have got to admit I was hoping he was going to quote "Blessed are cheesemakers" from the Life of Brian but I guess he thought it the Life of Brain and way outside he remit.
