Canada strongly condemns Russia’s latest attack on Kyiv, including the strike on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a sacred site in Ukraine and Eastern Christianity.    Canada stands with Ukraine. Their cause — freedom, democracy, sovereignty — is our cause.

For months there have been conspiracy theories circulating on here about the arson attacks on Keir Starmer. Now the case is concluded, the truth can be revealed. They were sponsored by Russia to directly intimidate the British Prime Minister and his family.

A reminder so what? A reminder manifestos are binding or the limit of what a government can do
Reminder. A social media ban was NOT in Labour's 2024 Manifesto. Neither was Digital I.D. Oh, or State Suicide. Or binning the two child benefit cap.

Correction: It was a Russian drone strike, not missile.

Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra: Monastery founded in Kyiv's caves in 1051, spiritual heart of Kyivan Rus' & Eastern Orthodoxy centuries before Moscow even existed. UNESCO site with saints' relics & Baroque churches. Russian fascists struck the Dormition Cathedral with a ballistic missile.

Only a week after guiding famous American influencers at the Russian dictator's St Petersburg propaganda festival, "Sasha Meets Russia" has been sanctioned by the EU. One of the Kremlin's more popular social media based propagandists, Alexandra Yost will now be able to enjoy Russia full time.

Sorry, bright 13/14/15 year old. You can’t watch that interview with Jared Isaacman, or that explainer of orbital mechanics from Scott Manley. But don’t worry, we haven’t banned YouTube Kids! Here’s Baby Shark instead.
Imagine banning a history-obsessed teenage boy from watching Mark Felton Productions on YouTube. Or watching Clarkson's old war documentaries. Horrendous.

My eldest just got home. Me: Did you all hear about it at school then? Her: Yeah, they're banning socials. Me: You're calmer about it than I thought. Her: Well you already ban me from them all. Me: What about Youtube? Her: What?! That's stupid. It's not social media, it's TV.

A key element that Keir Starmer and the Labour government have quietly added to the social media ban for under 16s: ▪️Adults can still access social media through age checks like facial recognition, digital IDs, passports and credit cards. Basically, a digital ID check on all adults on social media. The government are using the virtue smokescreen of online safety for children as a guise for wider digital ID verification for adults. As always with Starmer…smoke and mirrors to mask the real agenda.

There is no way to spin this, Trump has lost a tremendous war to the Iranians who have outsmarted him and are in a much stronger position than before Feb 27th. No matter what happens Iran will be getting billions of dollars from the US government to end this absolute disaster of US Foreign Policy. Of course Trump will spin this as a massive win for the USA and tell his loyal followers that because of his "expert" negotiations, Iran has agreed to not develop a nuclear bomb, but this has been the consistent message from Iran for years, and in fact this was already guaranteed under Obama's deal.
BREAKING: Iran says the US has agreed to pay $300 billion in reconstruction funds directly to Iran as part of the deal Pakistan announced, alongside the release of $24 billion in frozen funds with $12 billion released before negotiations even start, per Mehr News. This directly contradicts Trump's & Vance's claim that no funds will be transferred to Iran at all. If Trump denies this is true, there never was a deal. If Trump confirms, the US has fully capitulated to Iran's demands.

Assuming the reporting is accurate, I don't think this is a good enough response to either the ministerial resignations or the military threats the country faces.
EXC: Keir Starmer will not commit more money to the Defence Investment Plan for Dan Jarvis. Jarvis is expected to receive the same settlement of £13.5bn that led John Healey to quit the Government in anger last week, despite the new defence secretary’s pledge to ensure the Armed Forces have “what they need”. He will instead be told to supplement the existing budget by finding savings at the MoD when fresh negotiations kick off this week, two sources familiar with the situation told @Telegraph. Jarvis will, however, be given the chance to tweak the DIP *within the existing envelope* if he wishes. The news will dash hopes that John Healey’s resignation last week would force the PM to change course.
