Since Lord Grade has crawled out once again from under his stone, blessing @GBNEWS with his admiration, it's worth recalling that Grade was utterly useless in every senior role he occupied with broadcasters (I had direct experience). Best to ignore him. theguardian.com/media/2026/j…

I have a copy of the only extant PIE membership list. There are no recognisable BBC names - management or otherwise - on it. The reason the list has not been released is simple: to do so would be a breach of privacy (PIE was vile but not illegal - though it should have been.)
Why has the BBC never released the list of 300 PIE members, and every organisation, charity, school, university, civil service or government position they held? The BBC are happy to name-and-shame when it suits them, but pedo's always get a free pass..🧵 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq62…

Yet again @carolecadwalla is absolutely spot on correct. Brittin should be nowhere near the BBC - and companies using illegally scraped content to power their AI must be stopped. (Declaration of interest: 18 of my books have been stolen for or by AI LLMs.)
NEW: Will Google's AI hype man kill the BBC? I've written about Matt Brittin because the coverage of his time at Google is shockingly naive. The BBC's next DG made his career as a yes man at a rapacious AI monopoly that preys on news journalism in order to destroy it. 1/

A fine and important piece from @arusbridger. But I'd add the context that @Ofcom has been a non-regulating regulator for many years before the advent of @GBNEWS. That's why all British Public Service Broadcasters have been allowed to reduce drastically their PSB content.
Since @Ofcom seems to have given up, we asked 20 experienced journalist from a wide range of backgrounds to watch multiple hours of @GBNEWS . Their conclusion: the supposedly regulated channel has, in effect, become Reform TV. How did it happen? thenewworld.co.uk/alan-rusbr…

Dear God. @EnglandRugby are abysmal. And this dire performance has Borthwick's useless fingerprints all over it. He has to go.

Absolutely 100% correct.
Would love to see England have the ambition and desire to attack like Italy. Who’d have thought we’d think like that about England and Italy, Steve Borthwick needs to give Lee Blackett the reins fully in attack

Hey @EnglandRugby: try watching @FranceRugby vs Italy (happening now). Pace, power, precision & adventurous offloads, not box kicks & programmed players fitting into a dull pre-ordained 'system'. Guess what - it's great to watch.

If @EnglandRugby lose this - & I wouldn't be remotely surprised on current performance - Borthwick & Wigglesworth need to be sacked.
England deserve this. Two missed penalties to touch and two botched passes when five metres out. Total execution failure.

Absolutely spot on. @EnglandRugby planned to kick & were useless in the air. Steward far too slow; Freeman abysmal; Dingwall anonymous. Truly dire.
FT: 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 SCO 31 - 20 ENG 🌹 Pathetic, is the best way to put it. Utterly abysmal on every front. Selections weak. Mentally weak. Tactically weak.

Absolutely dire. So many problems - front row, Itoje not firing, Mitchell getting slow ball: but above all Freeman is useless.
Worst half of rugby England have played in some time. Really awful.

Two England players costing the team - Steward & Freeman. Very poor both

A fine & timely piece by @AdamBienkov. His description of 'managerial timidity' at the BBC is reminiscent of Britain's truly lousy managements in the car industry & Fleet Street in the 1970s. You may recall how they ended up ...
🔴The BBC’s Attempts to Appease the ‘Right-Wing Coup’ Against It Are Now Seeding Its Own Destruction By attempting to appease the forces seeking to destroy them, the BBC has helped trigger a crisis that now threatens its very future, argues @AdamBienkov bylinetimes.com/2025/11/10/t…

Agreed. But neither is Freeman an international-standard winger.
Fraser Dingwall is not England’s 12. Great club player, but he is not an international inside centre.

Very glad you enjoyed the interview. And yes - it's a truly extraordinary tale of secrets, lies, cover-ups, smears ...and festering spy scandals.
Excellent interview with @TimTateBooks on his new book, 'To Catch a Spy'. Read this with 'Spycatcher' by Peter Wright & Chapman Pincher's 'Their Trade is Treachery', to see the lengths politicians & the state will go to lie, cover up & deny the truth. youtube.com/watch?v=jnDUZHEl…

Very much looking forward to this. It's quite a tale: spy scandals, cover-ups, smears, lies to Parliament ... and an epic courtroom drama. See you there !
Peter Wright (ex-MI5) wanted to publish his memoires and Margaret Thatcher, PM, wanted to stop him. The Spycatcher affair went to a Sydney courtroom and beyond. Come and hear @TimTateBooks and @gavinesler discuss the evidence @ClaphamBookFest Tickets at payhip.com/claphambookfestiv…

I wrote about O9A & its avowal of killing in my 1991 book, Children For The Devil. I included its own publications explicitly endorsing 'human sacrifice'. It's unfortunate that no action was taken against O9A.
Declan Candiani has been convicted in London of possessing documents likely to be useful to someone committing or preparing an act of terrorism. He confessed to his involvement with one of the most evil far right groups in the world, the Order of Nine Angles, founded by British nazi Dave Myatt, and notorious as a hub for satanic national socialism. If you need any more recommendation, even the CIA calls my @iconbooks investigative spy expose & legal drama "captivating", "cogent" and "exceedingly well" written. And who am I to disagree ?

@TimTateBooks tells the story of Peter Wright's ruthless and lawless obsession to uncover Russian spies, his determination to reveal the truth, and the lengths the British government would go to silence him. To Catch a Spy is out now in paperback! bit.ly/3JKwDl1

You can love your country without being a bigot. As the emphatically progressive Show Of Hands (@showofhandsnews) sang in 'Roots': " "I've lost St. George and the Union Jack. That's my flag too and I want it back" See also @billybragg's fine book 'The Progressive Patriot'.

Huge congrats to @Lionesses. Amazing to think that 12 years ago when I published my book about the secret history of women's football, TV execs said no-one was interested in the sport. So, so pleased that @lionesses have proved them wrong.
