A very interesting man. When he used to give his address in the EP as Commission President, regardless of what state he was in, he’d drift between English, French and German.
Well there we have it - from the horse's mouth itself, Jean-Claude Juncker ⚫ UK would be blocked from rejoining due to proximity to USA ⚫ UK would lose all of its opt-outs and rebates so would never happen anyway ⚫ He knew UK would vote to leave ft.com/content/48a47a39-6365…

Fascism always looks the same, whatever the era. A mob attacking a lone man over his political opinion. That's how it starts.

MMT is wrong. All government spending is financed by current and future taxpayers if you include inflation as a tax on money.

OK. Lower tax rates, lower energy prices, easier planning permission of data centres and perhaps people would build home grown versions. They'll not until you sort out the other shit, obviously.

The Trots would prefer the poor poorer providing the rich were less rich.
I prefer to live in a world where Elno can become a trillionaire than a world where Thomas Piketty can make everyone poor. My enemy isn't the world's financial elite, it's the cultural elite.

We had an opt out to the Euro while we were a member. That expired after we left. EU says any attempt to rejoin will result in no opt outs. Therefore that means Euro membership. Only caveat is our national finances are so dire we wouldn’t qualify anyway.
The Sunday Express has picked up our story on the exclusive polling conducted for Britain Unbound, showing 40% of remain voters in 2016 would be less likely to want to rejoin due to the obligation to adopt the Euro. express.co.uk/news/politics/…

Join our Academic Symposium at Churchill College, Cambridge on Friday 10 July, 2026. Our programme marks the 40th anniversary of the Single European Act — which Margaret Thatcher later described as her greatest political “mistake,” a Trojan Horse that surrendered British sovereignty to unelected bureaucrats in Brussels. Engage with a distinguished line-up of speakers and network with fellow scholars and thought leaders. Pastries, buffet lunch and networking drinks reception – £50. Scan the code or go here: app.tickettailor.com/event/e… to see the full line-up.

“What do you mean John Healey’s running?”
🚨 Sources in Andy Burnham's team insist they were taken by surprise by John Healey's announcement and they had not been in discussions with the Defence Sec about any sort of leadership alliance. Burnham campaign source said: 'This was absolutely a point of principle for John he cares so much about this issue and it had nothing to do with any leadership contest.'

I don’t think Westminster quite gets how powerful this policy is to the small business community. The low threshold basically means some businesses work only 8 months of the year rather than fall into VAT registration. Massive disincentive and obviously hurts productivity.
The current VAT thresholds disincentives small businesses from expanding. We have long called for thresholds to be increased and would support such a move. cityam.com/reform-uk-vows-to…

The only way this makes sense is if you see it as part of Starmer’s strategy to sabotage Burnham.

Economics of the madhouse
Celebrated Left-wing economist Thomas Piketty has unveiled a mad new plan to impose a global 90% income tax and 20% wealth tax to 'save the planet'. It proves global quasi-communism was always the real goal, says Ben Pile in the Climate Skeptic. climateskeptic.org/p/the-lef…
