Jobs for life no longer the norm. Most people expect to have a life of different jobs. So we have to respond. Our new partnership with @linkedin will help us track labour market trends in real time. And adapt skills policy faster than before. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06…

The country owes Sir Alex Younger an enormous debt of gratitude for his lifetime of dedicated service. His outstanding leadership, steadiness and integrity kept us all safe and I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his family and his friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Very sad to read this news. The personnel of the Fleet Air Arm work tirelessly to keep us all safe. My thoughts are with the families after this terrible accident.
It is with deep sadness that we can confirm three members of the Royal Navy have died during a helicopter training exercise on Wednesday 3 June near Sourton, Devon.

We’ve hit a big landmark – 10 million free breakfasts served. 10 million better days at school – more children turning up, concentrating, getting on. 10 million easier mornings for parents – better drop-offs & commutes. Change doesn’t happen by chance, it comes with Labour. 🌹

Earlier, I met with the UAE Ambassador to discuss the imprisonment of British citizen Ryan Cornelius, following a letter signed by 100 MPs and Peers. I’m grateful for the Ambassador’s engagement. Ryan is 72 and has been imprisoned since 2008. The UN say he is unfairly detained.

I commissioned Alan Milburn’s work because more opportunity for young people should be a national cause. We have begun with the Youth Guarantee. This powerful report shows we need to do all we can to put work and opportunity at the heart of what we do. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy02…

It's now very clear this guy is not fit for public office.

I am truly appalled at the video posted by Israeli Cabinet Minister Ben-Gvir taunting those involved in the Global Sumud Flotilla. This violates the most basic standards of respect and dignity in the way people should be treated. We are in touch with the families of a number of British nationals involved to provide them with consular support. We have demanded an explanation from the Israeli authorities and made clear their obligations to protect the rights of our citizens and all those involved.

So growth higher than expected and inflation lower than expected. Net migration and small boat numbers also down. It’s still tough for many families but these statistics are going in the right direction.
NEW Inflation eases from 3.3% to 2.8% in year to April, with falls in domestic energy and other bills (water, VED) last month counteracted by a rise in petrol prices… Core inflation 2.5% vs 3.1%… services 3.2% vs 4.5% … Lowest services inflation since January 2022 - key indicator for Bank of England… Lowest core inflation since July 2021 Good set of figures before the inevitable upwards turn from full impact of Iran war, especially on domestic bills.

UK GDP per head grew by 0.6% in q1 2026 to which is the fastest economic growth per capita in a quarter for 4 years… UK GDP growth itself is fastest of the 6 G7 countries that have reported so far (and Japan expected at 0.4%, would be fastest full stop) Quite the backdrop for a leadership challenge…

Clear the PM gets the scale of the challenge, and the impatience people feel for change and bold action. Good to hear that urgency today. The last thing we need is some imitation of the Conservative chaos of the past. It would only benefit Reform and Farage.

The antisemitic attack in Golders Green is utterly appalling. Attacks on our Jewish community are attacks on Britain. Thank you to Shomrim, Hatzola and the police for acting swiftly. Those responsible will be brought to justice.

Great news for Macclesfield & the UK 🇬🇧 AstraZeneca’s major investment - including £150m for the Macclesfield site and a new “lab of the future” - is a huge vote of confidence in Macclesfield and our life sciences sector. This means jobs, innovation, and a stronger local economy.

I've joined parliamentary colleagues in calling for action on crytocurrency laundering. This followed excellent research by @Alexbrowder_ and the @HJS_Org that revealed Kyrgyz officials enabling Russian sanctions evasion to the tune of billions of dollars.
Following a Henry Jackson Society report presented in Parliament last month on cryptocurrency laundering, 26 MPs and peers have now urged the Foreign Secretary to sanction Kyrgyz enablers of the Russian stablecoin A7A5, a tool that has facilitated an estimated $100 billion in sanctions evasion. @Alexbrowder_ @TomTugendhat

I don’t mean to diminish the importance of this issue, but let it never be said that the House of Commons misses an opportunity to debate absolutely everything.... I imagine Paddington Bear would be following this one very closely! 🍯

Well said, Mike. NATO is the cornerstone of our shared security, built on a commitment to collective defence. Every day, UK and American servicemen and women work side by side to keep our nations safe. Thank you for your work supporting the greatest defensive alliance in history.
On April 4, 1949, the North Atlantic Treaty was signed in Washington, uniting the United States, Canada, and 10 European nations in a historic commitment to collective defense and peace. Then, and now, it stands as a powerful example of what strong alliances can achieve. 77 years later, emerging rhetoric from Washington risks undermining the very coalitions that helped secure Allied victory after WWII. Now, as global tensions mount, the United States must remain a steadfast partner to its European allies and its commitment to peace. I look forward to 77 more years of transatlantic partnership. @NATO
