I’ll never forget when I pointed out how ironic it is that people call 911 a “firefighter show,” when its lead is a cop, someone said I am defending cops. That’s not what I said. I was simply pointing out that 911 is a first responder show 😂

Right. I think this is due to the dumbing down of television to meet an audience that doesn’t grasp nuance and click/stan culture. Look 911twt couldn’t even decipher that Athena was bullshittin’ about her mom and kids having rooms in her new house, this is the audience they

🧵of the day - 911 is a victim of its own format. Procedurals are formulaic and repetitive, self-contained episodes that limit character development. However, the best procedurals avoid this trap by making sure that even though the structure repeats, the characters don't.

... don't get me wrong, I love the idea of overcoming, resilience, etc. But they didn't even spend much time on it, and she went back to being Hen, the one we know. Her role in the narrative did not change, so what was the point really? The intention was there but narratively?...

...didn't pay off. This is all the characters at some point. Also, giving them promotions don't count if you're not going to explore it fully and only letting them be tools within the story. Overall, I think this is one of 911s biggest issues when it comes to it's characters.

If Athena gets the opening emergency in S10, don't want to hear the complaints. S9 proved that getting those episodes doesn't mean she's dominating the season. She mostly took a backseat after, supporting other characters & sometimes 1–2 scenes an episode until the final stretch.

it's just seemed like Athena gets hated on a lot for this. Also, just fyi, when I mention being paired with Athena, I mean contributing in a way that also will push that character forward even if it's Athena's story and hopefully, they also get other stories for themselves too.
