"And that distress carries with me today. It brings me a sense of shame and distress personally that I did not know that, and it brings me a sense of shame and distress that this was done by people, all in the pursuit of taking land off First Peoples.โ€ abc.net.au/news/2024-04-29/jโ€ฆ

โ€˜Not In My Nameโ€™ is the new film by Brietta Hague broadcasting on Australiaโ€™s @ABCTV Compass program on 5 May at 6.30pm AEST (and then online). For overseas readers, ABC is the Australian equivalent of the BBC. The film is about Jewish dissent, my life and work, my journalism, family background, Jewish history, 7 October, mass slaughter in Gaza and the global surge in Jewish identity infused with support for Palestine. Itโ€™s been a long journey to get this film out but Iโ€™m so glad youโ€™ll be able to see it soon. The time for this film is now ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ. Iโ€™ll share more about it shortly but in the meantime enjoy this striking trailer.

Since 2019 there has been a Dawn Service every 26 Jan, where young First Nations people read a list of the massacres. Instigated by @SenatorThorpe and others, this is a continuation of William Cooper's call for 26 Jan to be recognised as a day of mourning

Disheartening, indeed sickening, to hear @JacintaAllanMP tell the @yoorrookjc that she hadn't heard much about the massacres on Gunditjmara County until a few days ago. Wait until she hears about Angus McMillan and the atrocities committed on GunnaiKurnai Country
