we’re all here for the money.
the only difference is that everyone’s way of extracting value keeps evolving.
truth is, a lot of teams don’t care about users in the way people think they do.
they care because users help them achieve whatever outcome they’re optimizing for, whether that’s attention, liquidity, volume, growth, or revenue.
i tweeted last month that i don’t believe in any project except its solution.
because narratives fade, communities rotate, and teams come and go.
the solution is the only thing that has to keep proving itself.
tbh when teams deploy huge amounts of capital, it’s rarely because they’re feeling generous.
they do it because they expect an even bigger return.
which is not necessarily evil but business.
the mistake is just pretending like they really care about us!
I'm honestly a bit tired of people looking down on users because they’re here for the money.
Yeah, I mean… obviously they are. And so are the teams and investors.
They might use heroic-sounding words, but when you really break it down and look behind it, money is obviously the primary motivation for all of them.
So please, let's stop the hypocrisy
