The past few years, it has been impossible to be on social media and avoid the tragedies and monstrosities in this world.
I've seen women's heads blown clean off, parents picking up the shredded remains of their children, hospitals bombed, elderly folk burned alive in their homes. From the Middle East to the USA, Los Angeles to the Levant, California to North Carolina, the misery has spared no one.
God bless the families of those in the floods today, and thank you to the incredible first responders and volunteers who are doing their best to save who they can. We're not in the danger zone, but it was clear how catastrophic things were becoming based on the rainfall in Austin alone.
Praying for those poor kids and their parents. May we be spared and delivered from the evils of this life. And for those of us who are, may we be blessed with the empathy to recognize the pain of others without needing to feel it ourselves.
