Conversely, dendritic spines offset glutamatergic synapses from the membrane so that perisynaptic diffusional clearance is enhanced.
This identifies distinct functions of respective GABAergic and glutamatergic synapse geometries, and help explain why they are so different.

Why are glutamatergic synapses located on dendritic spines while GABAergic ones are formed directly on the soma or dendritic trunk?

I _desperately_ need a corner mount KCB2C/M or KCB2/M for 60 mm cage. We ordered "in stock" 7 wks ago, paid up front. Thorlabs fails completely and won't even communicate an updated lead time. WTF.

I wanted to include my #PhDstudent on a #research grant, which counts on their CV here 🇪🇸.
But no siree, our university @upvehu couldn't in 2 months provide grant host @CSIC an authorization for him to participate (or not). Spain #science is suffocating in needless #bureaucracy.

Today I took pity on our DMi8 #microscope that has been locked up in a darkened room for 5 years.
I took it for a walk, showed it there is an outside world, and let it feel the early spring sunshine.
Then I locked it up once again in a nearby darkened basement room. #labmove
