Our gov is signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the French gov next to tie Ireland into the purchase of military hardware from France & create a defence partnership.
This reduces procurement competition & will cost the tax payer money. It may threaten out neutrality.

Data centres are now Ireland’s largest electricity-consuming sector (22% of all metered electricity in 2024). They are projected to account for 30% of national electricity demand by 2030, and roughly 97% are clustered in the Greater Dublin Area.
