I am proud to be endorsed by @NRDC_Action. I have a decades-long record of leadership in protecting our environment, ensuring our land, water, and air are clean, and holding polluters accountable.

ROAD TO 250: America’s Road to Independence On June 11, 1776, the Continental Congress pressed pause—but the work continued. During the recess, the Committee of Five—Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and Robert R. Livingston—was tasked with drafting what would become the Declaration of Independence. A reminder that history is often made in the moments between the headlines.

Early Sunday morning we lost my mother-in-law. We have all heard mother-in-law jokes, but I feel I was truly blessed with Carol Wrotniak, who passed away at the age of 94. Carol was a devout Catholic, voracious reader, a loyal friend, and someone who generously shared her time, including at the Polish Kosciuszko Foundation where she met her husband Mike, and community groups including the Morgan Park Summer Music Festival. She was especially supportive of and took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home in Glen Cove on Thursday, June 11, from 4:00–7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church in Glen Cove on Friday, June 12, at 11:30 a.m., followed by interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Brookville.

Proud to have the endorsement of the NYC District Council of Carpenters. The Carpenters build our communities — our schools, our hospitals, and our homes. Their work is the backbone of Long Island and Queens, and I appreciate their support. #TeamSuozzi #NY03 #June23 #UnionStrong

Feliz Dia de Portugal! Long Island’s strength comes from the many communities that call it home. I was proud to join today’s Portugal Day Parade in Mineola and celebrate Portuguese heritage, culture, and the generations of families whose hard work and contributions have helped shape our region. Thank you for the warm welcome and community spirit. Obrigado!🇵🇹🇺🇸

ROAD TO 250: America’s Road to Independence Before there was a Declaration of Independence, there was a decision to pursue one. On June 7, 1776, a resolution introduced in the Continental Congress put the colonies on the path toward independence—an early act of courage that helped launch the American experiment in self-government.

We should be focused on solving problems that Americans care about. Gas, groceries, utilities, healthcare—everything costs more. And prices are going up, not down!

ROAD TO 250: The Hidden Stories of Independence On Nathan Hale’s birthday, we remember one of America’s earliest patriots and the sacrifices made in pursuit of independence. In our district, that history is close to home—Halesite bears his name and a connection to the story of his capture during the Revolutionary War. History reminds us that democracy depends on the commitment of those willing to defend it.

We remember. On June 6, 1944, 156,000 American, British, and Canadian forces launched the largest amphibious assault in history on the beaches of Normandy—a turning point in World War II. On D-Day, more than 4,000 Allied soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Coast Guardsmen lost their lives. We honor their sacrifice by working together to protect our democracy and uphold the freedoms they fought to defend.

This evening, I joined survivors, families, advocates, and community leaders at the Wear Orange Community Unity event to honor victims of gun violence and stand with those who continue to carry its impact every day. The heartfelt stories shared this evening were powerful reminders that we all have a role to play in preventing gun violence and supporting survivors. I will continue working with law enforcement and grassroots organizations to promote gun violence prevention, support survivors, and build safer communities for everyone. Together, we can turn remembrance into action.
