Good morning with good news: Norway's data indicates EVs "fail at a lower rate than gas cars in extreme cold." EVs are 25% of cars in Norway. In a recent cold snap, 13% of cars unable to start were EV. For 2024 so far, 21% of cars unable to start were EV. electrek.co/2024/01/17/elect…

NEWS: Tesla supplier Panasonic plans to roll out the newest iteration of its 2170 EV battery cell with improved capacity as early as this year, the CTO of its energy business said. A revamped version of Panasonic’s 2170 cells will begin production at Giga Nevada. Panasonic has been working to boost the energy density of the 2170 cell, Watanabe said, adding that it could help reduce the overall cost of an EV. “We will expand battery capacity and improve productivity at the same time,” Watanabe said. Draadje. 1/

But the spokesman of the Bundeswehr did not comment on the secret document. 💬 "In principle, I can tell you that considering different scenarios, even if they are extremely unlikely, is part of everyday military work, especially in training." I think Elon Musk should receive a new incentive package from @Tesla. It's been 6.5 years since Tesla announced a 10-year CEO performance award for Elon, with vesting entirely contingent on achieving market cap and operational milestones that would make Tesla one of the most valuable companies in the world. In order to fully vest, Tesla's market cap had to grow to $650 billion (an increase of almost $600B at the time), and important revenue and profitability goals would also have to be achieved. Tesla achieved a $650B market cap just 2.5 years after that 2018 incentive plan went into effect. Tesla also went on to hit many of the revenue and EBITA milestones. I think incentives are important, and like the previous 2018 incentive plan, I think a new one should at least be partly based on market cap milestones. $2T, $5T, $7T, $10T, or whatever the Board of Directors decides, but it should be ambitious. Elon has previously stated that with extremely good execution, he believes Tesla could achieve a valuation comparable to the combined value of Apple and Saudi Aramco in ~5 years. This would result in Tesla's market cap exceeding $4 trillion. Optimus (Tesla Bot), Robotaxi's (FSD), next-gen car, Tesla Energy, etc. Tesla has so many big things in the pipeline that could create incredible revenue & earnings growth. Like with the 2018 incentive plan, the new one should give Elon no guaranteed compensation of any kind - no salary, no cash bonuses, and no equity that vests simply by the passage of time. Everything must be performance-based. He will be compensated only if Tesla and all of its shareholders do extremely well. Some may disagree with giving him a new incentive package because he's already so wealthy, in part due to these previous incentive packages. My response to that would be that Elon Musk is the best capital allocator in the world. He doesn't spend his money on giant yachts, houses, expensive car collecting, etc. Most of his net worth is tied up in the stock of his own companies. Every one of Elon's companies, whether it be Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, Boring Co, etc., has a mission that partly aims to improve people's lives and push humanity forward. These innovative companies create jobs all around the world.
