After a 5,000 km road journey through Tibetan regions, Vijay Kranti reflects on a reality that cannot be engineered or imposed something Beijing cannot manufacture: genuine acceptance rooted in lived experience, memory, and identity. #Tibet #DalaiLama

Deeply shocking to read this official US statement, which contains absolutely no expression of regret or condolence for the loss of innocent Indian lives. How can a “friend” and strategic partner be so deeply insensitive? Why couldn’t a non-compliant commercial vessel have been stopped using other, non-lethal means? Is it not possible to disable a ship's propulsion or steering without firing missiles targeted to kill civilian crew members? Practically every merchant ship navigating these crucial waters has Indian crew on board. Are they all considered fair game for US missiles now? This approach is unacceptable and I hope @DrSJaishankar had said so to @marcorubio.

We must honor the Dalai Lama’s wish to ‘be reborn in freedom’ but ‘not in China,’” said Rep. Michael McCaul. The future reincarnation of His Holiness is a matter of Tibetan religious freedom not CCP political control. McCaul’s proposed legislation reinforces that only the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and the Gaden Phodrang Trust hold the authority, not Beijing. Any attempt by the CCP to impose a state selected Dalai Lama would be a direct attack on faith, identity, and the rights of the Tibetan people. #FreeTibet #DalaiLama #ReligiousFreedom #Tibet #HumanRights #StandWithTibet #StopCCP

Barring few rare exceptions, Judiciary for all practical purposes appears a coercive instrument of executive. Demise of independent judiciary and free press are shocking and sad reality of India.
Almost all critics who are criticising the money spent for the UK tour of judiciary, are forgetting a much larger and serious issue. When the top judiciary travel with the very politicians against whose excesses they are expected to protect the citizens, how can one hope for an unbiased handling of cases between private individuals vs Govt?

Well spoken. You have shown loyalty integrity and character unlike so many of your disloyal colleagues who owe their political existence to Mamata Di.

#WATCH | Delhi: TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha says, "... I will not take anyone's name. I have been in the BJP with almost 30 years. I have been trained by very senior leaders of the party. If they would have said anything for me, it must be with a good intention... but for me the best if to be with Mamata Banerjee..." He says, "I will always be with Mamata Banerjee. Even if I am alone, I will just say "Ekla Chalo" and stay with her... I have no plans to go anywhere as of now..."

So reassuring to know HH is doing well after his knee replacement surgery. So many will now have no fears about knee replacement after the decision of HH to undergo such an operation at almost 91 years of age. The Dalai Lama is a role model in many ways. 🙏

VIDEO | Delhi: On the split in the TMC, party MP Shatrughan Sinha said, “First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the people of Asansol and West Bengal for giving me immense love, respect and support, and for ensuring my victory time and again. I first came to Asansol at Didi (Mamata Banerjee’s) invitation and on her instructions. In my very first election there, I secured a record-margin victory in what was the country’s first by-election at the time. Later, I also won a second time with a significant margin. Therefore, I would especially like to thank Mamata ji, the Trinamool Congress, and above all, the people of Asansol and West Bengal. I want to make it clear that I have always worked for everyone in Bengal, regardless of which party they belong to or whether they voted for me or not. I understand my responsibilities and will continue to fulfil them." He adds, "When I was going through a difficult phase after losing the Patna election in 2019, very few people stood by me. Mamata Banerjee was among the few who supported and encouraged me. She believed I should continue in public life without any gap in my parliamentary journey, and it was on her direction that I contested from Asansol. By God’s grace, and with the support of Mamata ji and the people of Asansol, I achieved victory. For the past few days, there has been a lot of speculation about me. Some people are speaking the truth, while others are spreading rumours. Some have claimed that I have joined the so-called rebel group. Yes, by nature I have always been outspoken. I often say that if speaking the truth is considered rebellion, then I am also a rebel. I have always spoken frankly and called a spade a spade. But I want to state clearly that Mamata ji stood by me during my difficult times, and today, in her difficult phase, I cannot abandon her. I was elected on the Trinamool Congress symbol - the ‘Jora Phool’ - not once but twice, with the blessings of God. Therefore, it is my duty and responsibility to stand with Mamata ji and the Trinamool Congress...my principle is very clear: when Mamata ji stood by me in my difficult times, it is now my duty to stand by her in this moment as well.” (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

One longstanding myth about women politicians was shattered. That Politicians defect and ditch parties once they lose or feel threatened by their past ghosts is not surprising. That MPs or MLAs from UBT or TMC or JDs or AAP etc defected happily after suddenly realising one day how bad their original parties were and that they all migrated for power, safety and greener pastures is also not surprising. This is the real India - its politics and character from ages. Traitors made India lose to invaders and renegades have toppled Govts. But what was shocking was the desertion by women politicians. Always thought women had better ethics, maturity, loyalty and sensitivity to stand tall in times of crisis. India is behind 90 years

Amidst the gloom of wars and price rise comes the cheer from the spectacular achievement of this young, bright motivated IAS officer Himanshu Nagpal @HimanshuN_ias working as CDO Varanasi. He has reversed the city's groundwater depletion, by implementing over 1,000 public building rainwater harvesting systems, restoring 393 ponds, and raising the water table by 1.7 metres. He launched Project Mission Muskan to rescue, rehabilitate, and reunite over 1,000 destitute and runaway children with their families and set up smart classes in hundreds of rural government schools. Congrats young man! You will become a model bureaucrat for community-centric development. Blessings! We need more like you.
