Why should American pastors have mentioned Charlie Kirk today? “He’s not in the Bible!!!” Here’s why: Silence in the face of martyrdom is cowardice. The church has always remembered its martyrs. Stephen was stoned, Polycarp was burned, the apostles were executed, and their names were spoken with honor because their deaths preached louder than most sermons. Hebrews 13:3 does not say ignore those mistreated, it says remember them as if you were suffering with them. Revelation 12:11 does not celebrate silence, it celebrates those who did not love their lives unto death. To stay quiet when a brother is murdered for his testimony is to betray both Scripture and your flock. Pastors who avoid Charlie’s name because they fear political backlash are teaching their people that cultural comfort matters more than costly obedience. That is not shepherding, it is self-preservation dressed up as wisdom. Charlie Kirk stood boldly for truth and paid the ultimate price. To dismiss that is to dismiss the very gospel he lived and died proclaiming. If you cannot weep with those who weep (Romans 12:15), if you cannot honor those who suffer for Christ, then what business do you have standing in a pulpit? Silence is complicity. Speak their names. I feel like I've lost a member of my family, and I never even met Charlie Kirk.

This isn’t my strong suit and I don’t even know how to begin to put into words the loss I am feeling right now over the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Charlie wasn’t just a friend — he was like a little brother to me - and to millions of people around the world - he was a true inspiration. He was one of the most courageous, principled men I’ve ever known, and he lived every day with purpose. His faith in God was unshakable, his love for Erika was inspiring, and the way he adored and cared for his two beautiful kids showed the kind of man he truly was. Charlie dedicated his life to something bigger than himself. He fought tirelessly for this country, for the values that make America great, and for the next generation. The impact he had on young people — reaching them in masses, giving them courage to stand up, to think for themselves, and to fight for freedom — is immeasurable. There is no question that Charlie’s work and his voice helped my father win the presidency. He changed the direction of this nation. Charlie was never a threat to anyone. He was civil, he was kind, he listened and responded with respect. The only “threat” he ever posed was that he was incredibly effective.
