Malcolm was a government Minister when Grangemouth announced it would close - what did he do about it? Not a thing. He wouldn’t even fund a study into supporting future industries on the site.
High energy costs and net zero policies are killing off our industry.

Observations on the interview by Nicola Sturgeon today. This is not about her being responsible for her husband’s crimes, this is about her responsibility as party leader and FM. She and others bullied and intimidated members of the NEC and silenced those who asked questions.1/5

Hi Zack. Did you miss the Warm Homes Plan? The biggest programme of home energy upgrades in British history: gov.uk/government/publicatio…
We could have seen a nationwide programme of home insulation, going door to door, making sure every home can keep in the heat, so no-one would risk getting sick or dying because they can’t afford heating in the winter. Why is this Government running from crisis to crisis?

Remarkable new levels of dishonesty from Kemi Badenoch. She surely knows that jet fuel supply is about global refining capacity, not the supply of crude. More North Sea crude would do nothing to solve the global refined products issue. She is simply misleading people.

You had 14 years in power. In that time the UK lost a third of our refining capacity and two refineries. We inherited the closure of Grangemouth which began when you were Secretary of State. And you never met the industry for 13 years. On your record, I’d sit this one out.
Hi Michael. Did you or did you not vote last night to keep crushing Carbon Taxes on British refineries? We are down to four refineries and they are spending more on the Government’s Carbon Tax than their wage bill. I imagine they have been banging on your door to tell you this. Are you even listening? No, you would rather import jet fuel from Indian refineries, using Putin’s oil, with twice the emissions, than back British production. You keep wanging on about our oil being sold abroad, the vast majority is refined here or in Europe, without it both us and our allies are more dependent not less on dictators like Putin. This is obvious to everybody, but you.

A win - I pressed the Treasury to review banking hubs in light of plans to close the Bank of Scotland in Balivanich. The Uist population doesn’t currently qualify for a hub, we have to change the system to take into account island and rural communities in this consultation.
Banking services matter to communities.  That’s why in our manifesto we committed to working with industry on the rollout of 350 banking hubs across the country.  But today we’re going further… 👇🧵

Stunning speech, Bradford is lucky to have her and so are we.
It was the honour of my life to move the Loyal Address -the first Muslim to do so. This moment belongs to the people of Bradford West. Their trust and faith in me made it possible. An opportunity of a lifetime. A privilege I owe to Bradford and to Britain. Full speech 🔽

Sweeney’s right, Donald earned every vote.
Lots of remote commentators raging that Alliance to Liberate Scotland ‘cost’ the SNP the Eileanan An Iar seat (there is no Western Isles constituency). Maybe it was a decent guy that stood for Labour? Maybe it was ferries? Maybe it was central belt ignoring us? Na, of course not.

Last week, my team gave me the most meaningful surprise: seeing my old Welsh teacher after 25 years. When we moved to Wales, we received a Welsh welcome: Mr Thomas’ kind belief, a nation growing economically, a community whose confident identity wrapped around us so warmly. Ahead of the most divisive Senedd elections in our history, the Wales that made me feels less certain. My hope: that we can return that same kindness to the centre of our national story.
