With special appearances from the Don Jail and The Lakeview Diner. 😀
Cocktail (1988) won a Razzie for Worst Film of the Year, and I demand a recount. It shaped bar culture. It looks gorgeous, you get Elisabeth Shue AND Gina Gershon, an ultra-charismatic Bryan Brown, and Tom Cruise doing Tom Cruise-type things. That bad? Or do we love it a little?

1940! Wow, I thought it would have been since the 80’s.
Jul 1, 1940: the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Retail Outlet No. 10 opens in the @CanadianPacific Railway's North Toronto Station. The initial ten-year lease was for $5,100 a year. The @LCBO has used the building for 82 years, almost six times as long as it was used by CP. 1/2

Parkdale's Past: Queen and Dunn. 1414 Queen St W to be specific, 1931 vs 2021. Notice that what is now a convenience store was possibly also a convenience store 90 years ago! As far as I can remember this has been a convenience store going back to the 1990's. (Toronto Archives)

Old City Hall must be saved, restored and opened back up to the public- including a Museum of Toronto. I appreciated visiting this truly special place that’s been such an important part of our city’s story.
