Mickelson's attorney says surveillance video will absolve him and that legal action could follow against those spreading misinformation. The golf legend has played just one LIV Golf event this season while dealing with a personal family health issue.

🚨🚔⛳️ #NEW — According to a @nypost exclusive report, The San Diego County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that they investigated the alleged “nonconsensual, inappropriate contact” surrounding Phil Mickelson and a female employee at The Farms GC in Rancho Santa Fe, California. In statement, the Sheriff’s office told The California Post that it “made attempts to locate any evidence to support the potential allegation of a sexual assault” but said “at this time, we have not located any evidence to show an assault has occurred.” “The Sheriff's Office would absolutely investigate further if provided additional evidence or information. We encourage anyone with information regarding an incident such as this to reach out to the Sheriff's Office.” The allegations first came to light today as part of a @GolfDigest investigation, citing sources which revealed Mickelson was no longer a member at The Farms GC as a result of the alleged misconduct. He can play majors if he wants too. The days of him playing 20 times a year are probably gone yeah, which is the case for almost all 55 year old golfers. We’ve been blessed it’s lasted this long quite frankly, he was the gift that kept on giving.

I don’t see any way Phil Mickelson wouldn’t have gotten to 13 under at this Masters tournament. It would’ve been 7-5 instead of 6-6. Oh well. Hopefully Lefty will be back at Augusta next year and for many years after that!

@TheMasters has turned into such an exciting weekend of golf. As much as I miss being there, watching it is every bit as enjoyable.

If Rory Mcilroy wins this Masters tournament, obviously it would have a huge asterisk given the fact that Phil Mickelson wasn’t in the field.

Watching @TheMasters and seeing so few players long enough to go for 13 &15 now has taken away so much excitement and intrigue to the back nine. Another example of how longer isn’t always better.
