Glad to see @itvnews covering the cost of living impact on essential services - specifically in the VCSE sector. Our utility bills have increased from 35k to a predicted 100-120k this year!

Black mould in #SocialHousing is not new and not unusual. We are frequently offered ‘hard to let’, I.e. mouldy, damp, inadequately maintained properties as a solution to accommodating our clients - some of the most physically and emotionally vulnerable members of our society 🧵

Vulnerable adults to solve a void issue. There seems to be a general consensus that people who have been homeless or battled addiction - those who often aren’t used to having a real home - should be grateful for these mouldy, dangerous properties. One of these housing providers

Has just under £300million in their reserves. There is nothing social about social housing - the whole housing is due a radical redesign. Give should fund new and alternative models that are centred on quality housing, regeneration and importantly - dignity for residents.
