2⃣ Standard hb threshold for transfusion is 70 g/l BUT rapidly falling haemoglobins should be rechecked at an appropriate interval.

Identification is critical for patients and healthcare workers alike. We were talking about Dr Granger’s work in a transfusion meeting a few weeks ago. Her legacy is so embedded that some HCPs don’t realise it ever wasn’t a thing.

Today we remember the one and only Dr Kate Granger MBE who died on this day in 2016.
Kate was an inspiration to thousands across the NHS and her legacy lives on in so much of what we do.
2023 marks 10 years since she launched the #HelloMyNameIs campaign.

I should qualify; GSCF stimulation is allowed but no longer performed (last done around 2017). Steroids not ok.
