That’s fantastic to read Steve, I’m very respectful of that, thank you. And yes, an approach where people demonstrate their appreciation for what others do for them has got to be the right way forward. Hope to see you there Anita!
Andy I'm pleased you asked the question but @BankConfidenti1 @efgbricklayer & @BomberMorgan have already committed to cover the costs. I'm hoping some more people who @BankConfidenti1 are doing substantial amounts of work for pro bono currently, will also commit, we'll see. But I don't expect your 'not for profit' firm to suggest they will cover costs, we need the limited funding you have to support yours, Chelsea's, Alex's & the rest of the teams support, on such events, not to fund them also. If its practical & Anita wants to go etc. we will support that cost.

Just out of curiosity Anita, how much money would you need all in to be able to go. Believe me, TTF is completely skint but we have helped a little bit with fundraising in the past (long story short it was to help fundraise for a judicial review against @TheFCA) and I’d be minded to try to help you if we can. So roughly how much do you need all in, friend?
Thank you Nigel, I knew you would as I knew @efgbricklayer would. You have both donated to support other victims previously. It would be nice if a few others might appreciate @BankConfidenti1 ongoing pro bono work in these areas & also offer support for victims...

🗞️ City of London transparency survey launched 👇 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjrp…
📢 The APPG on Investment Fraud and Fairer Financial Services has a new and important project that is being led by Green Party peer Natalie Bennett. It’s about examining whether the City of London Corporation should be left as is, reformed or abolished. This is directly relevant to TTF members, as the Corporation wields significant influence over financial services regulation and legislation (including through the role of the City Remembrancer). The key question is whether that influence serves the public interest, or primarily the banks and institutions that dominate the City. If you do want to take the opportunity to have your voice heard please complete the online survey, which is available for you here 👇 docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F… we won’t be publishing respondents’ email addresses or names, so please do take this opportunity to share what you really think. The full press statement about this initiative is available for you here 👇 appgifffs.org/wp-content/upl…

📖 TTF’S BOOK OF THE WEEK: “Scams Unmasked: Inside Modern Fraud: Stories of Trust, Loss and Control” BY Ashford Menezes What makes a scam feel real? Not the technology. Not the fake websites or convincing messages. But trust. Scams Unmasked: Inside Modern Fraud follows seven ordinary people drawn into situations that feel believable, personal, and difficult to question in the moment. A retired civil servant receives a call from a government office. A nurse meets someone online who seems to understand her. A café owner is told she has won a lottery she never entered. A student opens an email that feels urgent, official, and real. None of them expect what follows. Written in a story-driven style, this book explores how modern scams work beneath the surface and not just technically, but psychologically and emotionally. Each story reveals how pressure is applied subtly, how trust is built slowly, and how decisions are often made before doubt has time to catch up. These are not just stories about fraud. They are stories about trust, loss, manipulation, and the deeply human need to believe. Scams Unmasked is a cinematic and thought-provoking look into the world of modern fraud: created to inform, engage, and encourage awareness in an age where deception no longer looks obvious. You can purchase the book on Amazon here 👇 amazon.co.uk/Scams-Unmasked-…

The Financial Services & Markets Bill [HL] is far more important than most people realise. To my mind, there is a high risk that some hard-earned consumer protections may be under attack. Will Parliament come to their defence? It will be well worth watching how Monday afternoon's proceedings go - it starts at 3:15PM: (Or watch later on Parliament TV, or read the Hansard Report). parliament.uk/business/news/… @paullewismoney

📺 We have just uploaded the recording of the event we ran Tuesday, entitled: “Litigants in Person: Challenges, Support and the Court System” The speakers were: ●     Becky Newman, Senior Service Manager, Support Through Court ●     Tony Lawlor, Campaigner ●     Arno Gaultier, Innovation Consultant, AIO You can watch the recording here 👇 youtube.com/watch?v=-ZnJEYkO… If you can, please share this video widely within your network/on social media. 🗣️ Andy Agathangelou says: "Tuesday's event was tremendously helpful. Becky gave an excellent and clear explanation of the work of Support Through Court and how the organisation can benefit litigants in person. It was also valuable to hear from Tony and Arno, both of whom have amassed a huge amount of lived experience of navigating court processes. It was fascinating to hear about the difference between how things are supposed to work and what happens in reality - they can sometimes be very different. My overall conclusion is that we need to keep running events like these. Litigants in person are often at a significant disadvantage, so as a society we should do all we can to support them. Sharing knowledge, insight and experience is incredibly valuable. Knowledge is power when it is applied, and by learning from one another we can help people better equip themselves for the challenges they face."

Delighted to be doing this - here's the survey: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…
📢 We are pleased to share a press statement regarding an important new project that the APPG on Investment Fraud and Fairer Financial Services has embarked on. It’s about looking into the City of London Corporation; and very importantly it’s about inviting you to have your say, via a short and simple survey. The project examines whether the City of London Corporation should be drastically reformed or even abolished altogether. Perhaps reform or abolition could lead to a significant reshaping of our financial services landscape, for all the good reasons given in the statement. This initiative is being led by Green Party member of the House of Lords Natalie Bennett @natalieben . And if you do want to take the opportunity to have your voice heard please complete the online survey, which is available for you here; 👇 docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F… we won’t be publishing respondents; email addresses or names, so please do take this opportunity to share what you think. Why is this issue so relevant to TTF members? Because the project is all about exploring whether the City of London Corporation is as fair, democratic and transparent as it should be; and as you may already know the City of London Corporation has a significant degree of influence over how the financial industry is run - the press statement explains the ‘interesting’ role of the City Remembrancer, whose job is to influence financial services legislation. The full statement is available for you here 👇 appgifffs.org/wp-content/upl…
