CONYERS, Ga. —#22-ranked Transylvania men’s golf team sits in 5th place after 36 holes at the Emory Invitational at Cherokee Run Golf Club.
The Pioneers posted rounds of 7-over and 12-over on Saturday and are chasing a loaded leaderboard that features 4 teams ranked inside the NCAA Division III Top 8. Sewanee leads at 1-under, followed by Huntingdon and host Emory in a tie for second at 5-over, with Mary Hardin-Baylor in fourth.
@TransyGolf was led by a trio of steady performances from William Carr, Andy Steed, & Tom Buchert.
Carr paced the Pios with a 36-hole total of 3-under par, placing him 3rd individually in a loaded field w/ top national talent. Carr opened with a 1-under 71 & followed with a 2-under 70
Steed added a solid effort for finishing the day at 3-over after rounds of 71/74. Buchert carded back-to-back rounds in the mid-70s to sit at 6-over heading into the final round.
