A drone lodged into the cockpit of the AH-64 between the two crew, but didn’t detonate, and they then had to land the helicopter in the sea while it was on fire and the drone could’ve exploded at any minute, the president tells Fox this morning.
Yesterday, he told the WSJ it “wasn’t a big deal.”

NEW: Here's a look at the massive U.S. military presence now spread across the Middle East.
According to U.S. Navy officials, nearly 20,000 American sailors and Marines are currently at sea aboard two aircraft carriers — USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush — along with 18 guided-missile destroyers, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and more than a dozen air squadrons.
The assets are spread across the Eastern Mediterranean, Red Sea, North Arabian Sea, and Arabian Sea, where U.S. forces are helping defend Israel, counter Houthi threats, conduct operations involving Iran, and support maritime security in and around the Strait of Hormuz.
The naval force is part of roughly 50,000 U.S. troops currently deployed throughout the Middle East.

It’s an open secret throughout the Pentagon that survivability often depends on making as little noise as possible and avoiding drawing the attention of Hegseth and his office, multiple officials said.
“Everything we did on a daily basis, we were calculating, ‘Is this going to keep the boss employed, or is this going to get him fired?’” a Pentagon official told CNN. “Every single day, every decision that we made, that was a planning factor. … It’s very unusual for that to be considered so heavily.”

Adm. Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander, briefed the Defense subcommittee for the House Appropriations Committee today in Washington, D.C., on U.S. military operational priorities in the Middle East. Cooper will also brief the committee in the Senate tomorrow. These sessions follow public briefings to the Armed Services Committees last month.
