On this day 11 years ago, it was announced during the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS & Wii U's "New Content Approaching" presentation that "Tireless Wanderer" Ryu was joining the entry as a new DLC playable character. Ryu's reveal trailer can be watched below.

Everyone wants it to be the same, but yall don't understand because of the limitations of the 64. we got the bare of what they could do. The 3ds didn't add much to it either. But THIS is the time to add things and change stuff that needs it. i say, BRING IT ON!

The 3DS was still getting games in the background and was a fail-safe if the Switch didn’t succeed. Now for Switch 2, Switch 1 still gets games in the background like the passing of a torch.

Switch 1 VS Switch 2 - First half of Year 2 Switch 2 clears, even without Ocarina of Time gameplay yet. Switch 1's 2018 was rough until Smash Ultimate dropped in December.
