UCLA becoming the #1 overall seed is incredibly impressive. People don’t realize how hard it is not just to BECOME #1… but to STAY #1. I was on a UCLA team that reached #1 in the country. And honestly? once you get there… everything changes. Every team circles your name on the schedule. Every team gives you their best shot. The pressure grows. The expectations grow. And if you’re not careful… you slowly stop playing free. You start trying to protect the ranking instead of competing. That’s what makes what this UCLA team did so special. To go wire-to-wire as the #1 team in the country… while carrying expectations the entire season… takes an unbelievable level of: - toughness - consistency - confidence - mental freedom Especially in baseball.
