I disagree with this. The old business model is in trouble, the industry isn’t. It’s not the same thing.
We have more gamers than ever, more ways to play than ever, some of the best games ever shipping right now.
What you’re calling trouble is just the industry adjusting to 2026. Personally, it’s never been more exciting to be a gamer.
too much in fighting in the gaming community
brand loyalty and bragging rights are getting in the way of the reality that this industry is in trouble:
1. hardware costs too much
2. game development takes too long and costs too much
3. the game themselves cost too much
we're seeing studios close and employees being laid off at record numbers as all of these companies are scrambling to find a business model that works
GTA 6 isn't wearing a cape with a big S on it that will magically fix everything
