Len Johnrose is now communicating with his family and friends using his own voice, which he banked after being diagnosed with #mnd.
The ex Blackburn Rovers and Burnley midfielder says being able to use his voice again with the help of a machine has been a huge boost.

On the flip side, I've become a master of quiz shows!
More importantly, with a bit of help, I'm now properly able to use my banked voice. My mood has immediately improved to pre-voice loss levels, so you can expect to see a few more rants.

I especially found it difficult having visitors round, knowing that I'd be limited to the odd grunt (no change there) or nod or shake of the head. I chose instead to turn down the offer of visits, taking what, for me was the lesser of the evils.
