🇦🇲🇹🇷 Turkish Media Reports Possible Opening of the Armenia–Turkey Border in Summer 2026
Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak reports that the Armenia–Turkey border could be opened for land transportation and trade in the summer of 2026.
According to the report, the Alican–Iğdır border crossing is expected to open first, followed later by the Akyaka–Kars crossing. Trade volume between the two countries, currently estimated at $300–350 million, could reportedly increase to around $1 billion.
So far, this remains a media report and has not been officially confirmed by either government.
