We are outraged after an Israeli drone strike almost hit 5 of our Palestinian and international staff on their way home from Nasser hospital in Khan Younis. As always, the Israeli authorities were notified about our movements and the vehicle was identifiable with an MSF logo. This attack, which occurred on the afternoon of 20 November, killed 20 people and seriously injured 10 others according to the Ministry of Health. These indiscriminate attacks on civilians and healthcare must stop. “Repeated security incidents in the humanitarian zone pose a real threat to the safety of our staff and patients and the continuity of our activities in Gaza. Humanitarian workers must be protected at all times,” says Caroline Seguin, MSF coordinator in Gaza.

A Tasmanian inquiry has confirmed what we've been saying in our clear the hospital logjam campaign. Our hospitals need funding to increase capacity and improve performance, address exit block and expand measures to keep people out of hospital. hospitallogjam.com.au

I had a little cry watching the news tonight. Thousands of people marching through their towns in solidarity all over the country against the people who would seek to divide us. As someone who arrived in the UK as a child refugee it means everything to see this allyship.

“I have never seen a mass casualty event like today [13 July] Every corner in the hospital was busy. Every space was occupied by the injured or bodies of the dead” says Dr Mohammed Abu Mughaiseeb, MSF deputy medical coordinator, working in Nasser hospital, Khan Younis, south Gaza

In Nov. 2023, intense shelling in #Gaza prevented thousands of Palestinians from safely leaving Al-Shifa Hospital. In April 2024, the MSF team restarted the clinic. The team never stopped treating patients during what they describe as the most difficult days of their lives.

We are outraged and strongly condemn the killing of our colleague, Fadi Al-Wadiya, in an attack this morning in Gaza City. The attack killed Fadi, along with 5 other people including 3 children, while he was cycling to work, near the MSF clinic where he was providing care.

I had some reticence initially, probably due to fatigue after a difficult year, but the passion and drive of the women with me and in this essential conversation have lifted me up and I’m now super excited for the sequel:) #Wanel2 #thisisourlane eventbrite.com/e/every-storm…

It was a long road for @acemonline to arrive at this statement, but I am grateful and proud that our college (with CENA, NZNO and CENNZ) is the first college to speak meaningfully on Gaza. Silence is a political act, and this is our lane. #NotATarget acem.org.au/News/June-2024/E…

🔴UPDATE: Israel’s offensive in Rafah has forced the closure of an MSF primary care centre in Al-Mawasi. This is the second health facility we have been forced to close this week and another step in Israel’s systematic dismantling of Gaza’s health system. Since February, we have treated over 33,000 patients at the health center. Earlier this week, the Tal Al Sultan stabilization point had to be evacuated due to extreme violence. Medical access in Rafah is now extremely limited and humanitarian access to north Gaza remains blocked. MSF has been forced to leave 14 medical facilities in Gaza since October. More than a million people have been forced to flee the Rafah offensive. As long as this offensive and the larger war continues, medical services and essential aid will diminish, and more civilians will die. #CeasefireNow
