Firstly, a majority of people parking will be people who live in the US. Not travelling fans.
Secondly, they earn a lot more on average in the US to itโs not as expensive as you think, similar to what it would cost to park at Wembley stadium all day.
The World Cup coming to America was always going to mean this. A country that runs on cars, charges for everything, and has spent decades treating football as a secondary sport is now hosting the biggest tournament on earth.
Parking at an NFL stadium on matchday was never going to be cheap. Add a World Cup premium on top and here we are.
The sport deserves better than being treated like a corporate event.
The US is doing everything they can to price people out of football ๐
