Firstly, a majority of people parking will be people who live in the US. Not travelling fans. Secondly, they earn a lot more on average in the US to itโ€™s not as expensive as you think, similar to what it would cost to park at Wembley stadium all day.
The World Cup coming to America was always going to mean this. A country that runs on cars, charges for everything, and has spent decades treating football as a secondary sport is now hosting the biggest tournament on earth. Parking at an NFL stadium on matchday was never going to be cheap. Add a World Cup premium on top and here we are. The sport deserves better than being treated like a corporate event. The US is doing everything they can to price people out of football ๐Ÿ‘Ž

Piss easy being a pundit isnโ€™t it Been a while since a team played: โ€œyou can tell itโ€™s been a while, itโ€™s not clickingโ€ Played a bit recently: โ€œyou can see theyโ€™re a bit tired out there, theyโ€™ve played a lot recentlyโ€

Hydration break > The game

This World Cup has really shown the severe decline in football. 95% are so conservative and safe, even when losing they stick to the safe plan. No risk, no creativity, stick to the plan.

I preferred the Qatar added time. It was long but it maximised the football being played. Yesterdayโ€™s Netherlands game had 6 added minutes - 3 of those were the hydration break. Meaning 4 goals, 3 yellow cards and 9 substitutions only apparently equalled 3 minutes.

Last season the premier league averaged the ball being in play for just 56 minutes and 59 seconds. Less than 2/3 of the games were actually played. More added time would limit the time wasting and youโ€™d actually get to see two halves of football.

Starmerโ€™s ban on social media isnโ€™t a ban for 17 year olds and below. Itโ€™s a ban for the entire population, until you identify yourself and link your social media to your ID. It was never about protecting children.

I think social media has been so damaging on everyone. Especially children. However comparing it to the 80โ€™s is hilarious. Most of those activities listed could, somehow, end up getting you stabbed or worse. Knock on the wrong door or the ball hits someoneโ€™s car itโ€™s game over
The last line: "Stare at a wall" Those born in the 80's and before who didn't have social media never once "stared at a wall" in our free time we had: Playing out with friends Wembley Singles Kerbsie Crash Bandicoot FIFA Riding our bikes Knock & Run The list goes on!

Must think weโ€™re all stupid.
๐ŸšจNEWS: Keir Starmer has announced that due to the under 16โ€™s social media ban he is about to make law. Every adult in the UK will have to prove who they are to use social media. Anonymity online is now officially dead

I get the sentiment but anyone checking social media for travel updates arenโ€™t going far in life.
So the 17 year old coming home from their evening job can't check Facebook or X to see if their trains home are disrupted... or tweet the operator for help!

Heโ€™s dressed down to try and relate with the kids ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ good lord.
We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just canโ€™t let that go on anymore. So weโ€™re giving children their childhoods back.
Community note
The UK Government's 'careful review' of the research found a small correlation between children's use of social media and wellbeing, but no evidence of a causal effect: gov.uk/government/pubโ€ฆ assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/696e0b46โ€ฆ

Thereโ€™s always some busybody who after the first hit starts getting involved and stopping any more. If he gets up and pulls out a knife, everyone is in trouble and theyโ€™d be the first people to want the person they stopped to defend them again. Fucking hate those people.
The man in the red jersey, give him the freedom of Cork City. He imdid what many are afraid to do to these new to the parish individuals.
