Boy am I glad the appearance of the one monster who can infect an organic nuclear milk reactor and thus potentially drive the entire continent into decline choose to appear about the same time across a thousand years as a group of people well suited to stop it.

World is full of this stuff. You can stumble upon all kinds of monsters well before their story quests
It's one of the reasons why I despise the fact that we always see the monsters on the maps now. Can't turn a corner and run into unseen monsters anymore or be invaded like this
